Looks like focusing excessively on the Confederate flag has only made the problem worse - big surprise that, no one could have recognised the inevitability of exactly this kind of reaction. He kinda does have a point. Maybe I'm wrong. I've only been to South Carolina like 2 brief times in my life, but I would guess that the kind of people who really want the flag gone are then going to be completely fine with the confederate monument. I'm not saying after the flag comes down, demands for removal of the monument will start a week later. But, they will come.

I really can't take people on the left seriously on this topic. At any rally full of lefties, they all seem fine with the wearing of Che t-shirts, terrorist scarves and waving soviet flags. There is legitimate reason to be against the confederate flag, but these people are just opportunists.
