Towns, Wiggins, Rubio, Pekovic, LaVine, Muhammad, Garnett, Kevin Martin.....can we at least expect Minnesota to not be a bottom feeder finally.

9-13 seed? They're not making the playoffs for awhile yet.

its the calm before the storm. Get the knocks out of the way while teams in the west get a year more older

A team that is young and have no spacing isn't going anywhere. Just throw the talent out there to get big minutes.

Gone are they days where a rookie would come in and turn the franchise into instant contenders.

Are we ever going to see a rookie dominate the league again? When was the last time a rookie turned a losing team into contenders? Tim Duncan?

Bottom 5 team? Let the young guys develop, hopefully they progress nicely and grow together. I expect Pek to play at most 60 games and for some other vets to get traded mid-season (maybe Martin). The rebuild is young, but is off to a fantastic start.

Keep in mind that Robinson was out most the year leading up to duncan getting drafted.

Don't forget Bennett is also a #1 pick.

I know the NBA/bball is affected by who's on the court more than anything else. But I just can't see the TWolves getting over that hump, especially in the West, w/ Flip Saunders as the HC.

If the young guns explode, then they could fight for .500. But West is too stacked.

Not enough shooters and too young to make it to the playoffs, in a couple of years they'll be a force.

Too many young guys to develop. They really should pick half of them to develop and it might work out. Try to develop a whole roster of young guys and you'll just turn them into losers.

Obviously you start w wiggins and towns. Then you take Rubio and pekovic- why dump them at an all time low value, ESP when their games could mesh w the "big 2".

That means you take shabazz, Lavine, Bennett, dieng - take 2 and develop them into a role, and send 2 down the road for the betterment of the "big 2". Dieng is too easy to pick out of that group because of his defensive ability, Bennett is the easist to give up.

Then most importantly you have to figure out what positions your "big 2" have the highest ceilings at. Wiggins is at 2, you got this year to hope towns is a 4. If he isn't a 4 then obviously playing towns, pek, dieng, and Garnett at the 5 is too much. Then you trade pekovic.

Calderon, t Hardaway jr, thanasis, 2018 1st
For
Bjelica, Bennett, Lavine

Rubio/Calderon
Wiggins/Hardaway jr
Shabazz/thanasis
Towns/dieng
Pekovic/Garnett

That's a team that can start improving and a team built around towns/wiggins first

Bron didn't make the playoffs his rookie year. Same season, tho, and definitely not contenders, but Melo took a shit team and made them surprisingly competitive. Think at the time it was like the 5th or 6th biggest turnaround season in NBA history. Not sure what else changed between seasons.

Funny since Melo is now looked upon as a loser.

My expectations; for everyone to stay healthy and make improvements from last season. I don't expect to make the playoffs this season. Although that would be sweet. But I am just looking for players to stay healthy, show some pride in the team and their game, and have small to great improvements. I do not want to see any player having a drop off in their game, other than KG. I mean he is 39 so I am not expecting 20/10 from him. But the rest of the pups gotta step up and have some pride!!

Let's go, Timberwolves!!!! :applause:

Despite the fact it looks like Dallas will fall out of the playoffs next year, maybe Portland too if Aldridge does leave...

The West is still too stacked. The Pelicans and OKC missed the playoffs out west. They would have HCA in the east.

Wolves have to wait for someone to fall out.
