Source: Cavs have offered Brendan Haywood and 24th overall pick to the Lakers for Nick Young
JR won't be on the Cavs next year that's for sure...I'd like this deal for both teams.

 If the Cavs are this dumb holy shit. Yeah, clear some more cap space for the Lakers to sign Love away from you.

As a Laker fan, I would do that trade.
Then offer Cavs' 24th pick & 27th pick to another team & move up in draft. Maybe up to late 10's.. 16-17..

Might as well keep JR Smith if that's the case instead...
Doesn't make sense they need a offball player at the 2. A better version of Shumpert who's just awful offensively.

They don't want to pay JR 7 plus million. The issue is defensively, JR is light years better than Young. JR can play defense when focused but Nick Young is even more erratic offensively.
Cleveland needs a 3 and D player.

This has to be a rumor from LA. This is a joke of a deal by Cleveland. To dump Young for the Haywood contract would required at least #27 going back to Cleveland. If not a second rounder.

Nick Young and JR Smith, does that even equal double digit I.Q. points?

Lakers gotta do this. Nick Young can easily be replaced. especially with the Lakers cap. get someone like Khris Middleton or Danny Green.

Griffen has been a genius so far. He has something in mind if this is true.

but to nick youngs defense, hes not a bad player at all. as long as he remains focused, he can have a nice impact off the ball. Defensively, he has good man to man principles, but he just doesnt execute them half the time. It's all about getting his head on straight, and the bright lights of LA werent the place for him to do that. A JR smith like turn around is a possibility for him. i just wouldnt hold my breath.

No chance LA does this. Young is a fan favorite and will keep putting asses in the seats after Kobe is gone.

Hilarious rumor. I can't think of a worse idea. Thankfully, it has zero chance of happening.

Nick Young isn't terrible but there's cheaper players I would take over him that the cavs could have targeted.

Nick Young strikes me as the least serious player in the NBA. JR Smith is one thing, but at least you know he can dial it in and play in our system effectively. He has proven that.
Seems like it's all fun and games for Young and that's really the last thing this team needs. We carved out an identity as a tough, hard-nosed group in the playoffs. He doesn't fit... at all.
