It was more fit than anything. Mocks had Hezonja dropping if we took Winslow too. Winslow should have gone 8 or 9 though which was the range Hezonja was mocked to fall to as well.

Yes, he and his dad already had plans to come which is why his euro team benched him when they found out. He's also just said he is coming this year a few minutes ago. It's a riskier pick than winslow imo but if it pans out it gives us the offensive weapon we need. Now we just need rim protection.

How can you people hate on Porzingis and believe that Hezonja is some kind of a monster of a player?

Everytime Porzingis played a great European team, he scored almost 20 pts + had really nice dunks, while Hezonja did his scoring while playing bad teams or in trash time.

Could possibly work out but on paper that's a spacing nightmare with Elfrid/Oladipo.

I'm not sure how many of you have watched him play but I have. I'm not sure how he's going to translate to the NBA. He may end up being just a 3pt guy. The guy cannot dribble. He dribbles very upright and just is a very very poor ball handler. I think that NBA defenses will eat him up. I think he's intriguing but I'm just not positive that he's going to be effective. I hope so but I have my doubts and think it's more likely that he becomes a three point specialist than he does a stud scorer. With that handle he will not be driving and dunking on very many people in the NBA. He really needs to improve that.

It get overblown in the draft but really how many players do end up being good? Not that many. Go back at each draft and there's about a 50% chance any lottery pick becomes a decent player. Seriously.
