He knows damn well we have to make some great trades that will make us win again especially picking the toothpick version of dirk aka bargs jr at number 4 tonight. I hope Phil do the right things because I'm REAL upset at our pick, all that shit Phil talked and he want to pull this shit out?? Damn! We haven't had a REAL good lottery pick since Ewing and I wasn't even born yet! I will always respect Phil as one of the greatest coaches of all times but this guy better step his shit up as knicks president. I just hope this guy know what the phuck he's doing. Help us lord! What you think he will do ISH???

Not sure what the Knicks are doing.
Are they rebuilding completely now?
Or is Phil trying to shed salary and add draft picks to make some trades?
Because they have an aging Melo...and keeping these two picks and doing a rebuild makes no sense if you keep Melo.
Do they move Melo?
A bit confused as to which direction they are going.

Never know...kid might be Dirk...or even Ryan Anderson maybe on the low end? If not....

Which is why the pick is kind of crazy considering Melo is an aging star.
By the time this kid is ready (if he ever is)...Melo won't be an elite player anymore most likely.
I don't hate the pick at all, but I'm just curious as to what the Knicks are doing.

Exactly we need a guy that's more NBA ready not no guy who will be ready to play good in 2-3 years:facepalm

How about BAP? Highest ceiling? It can't be that simple?

Jerian Grant, love the trade  He is not a project, will give them much needed PG help.

What is the trade?
Porzingis and grant is an A+ draft.

It could, but that doesn't make much sense to me. If Melo was 5 years younger? Sure, but the entire team is going to be built in free agency this summer.
What happens when the Knicks could really use a legit NBA ready player the next two years....and Porzingas isn't helping much?
Just don't see why a high risk high reward guy here makes sense.
Unless they move Melo....even that doesn't make much sense because the Knicks don't have their pick next year.
Just seems like they should have traded the pick and built out the roster with proven NBA talent.

The problem with this pick is that the Knicks don't have next year's pick.
But I'm also hearing David West wants to join the Knicks. We will see. Knicks need to get into the playoffs next year, even if it is the 8th seed. I don't wanna give up another lottery pick.

PJ probably doesn't think Melo can lead the Knicks to anything big. So he's thinking long term. I can't knock the pick, I would've take him too. Too much of a high ceiling to pass up.

Whats the difference? If we had the pick, we would have wasted it on your euro-trash

Unless they move Melo.See if Lakers would take him for D-Russell + Jordan Hill lol. If they're keeping Kristaps, I'd rather do that. They wouldn't take him but may as well try to move him. Pay this summer for role players, hope to eke into the 8th spot, and give out 2 supermaxes next offseason.
Meh moving THJ for a guard makes sense but I agree that as of now I'm not sure what Phil's exactly doing. I like Kristaps but it seems they're going for a youth movement while trying to bring in top guys, which is hard to do.

Let me be clear...I'm not knocking the pick. I'm saying I don't understand the plan.
The pick might be great...I certainly have no clue if this guy will be great or not...the draft is essentially random after the first pick as to which guys are good or not.
But what is the plan?
Is the plan to try and win now or develop a young team? It's really hard to do both and with the Knicks not having any players...it just seems odd.
I think the team is Jose, Melo, Porzingas, Grant....I think that's all they have for sure on the books for next year.

I think when a team has many holes, you just gotta go BAP and highest ceiling. The plan should be to acquire talent and let them develop. He is pretty much saying, "Melo, I don't think you can win for us so I am thinking long term."

Yea...that is fine.
Then they should trade Melo and Calderon and build for the future.
Also, we don't know what kind of team they will have. That is kind of my point. They only have 4 players on the roster as of right now. It will be very interesting to see what happens. I heard David West might come in free agency. I don't see the point of stuff like that if this team is building to the future.

Better than being stuck in mediocrity. How does it feel to have hit your team's ceiling at first round knock out?

Really? Draft night makes it all worth it. If the knicks stayed healthy and did their best and squeaked into the playoffs they would be in the same position only with a worse pick.

I do miss the excitement of draft night. 20th pick is pretty lame. You guys did well at 4th I think, picked the guy with the highest ceiling.

have some FAITH.
Nothing New York has done in the last decade has made them a winner. An unorthodox approach maybe New York's way to get up there.
Relax...JAX is a smart man and wouldn't put his name on something that wouldn't pay out.

Building w players who's talent compliments your best player is a good idea.

He can leave the Knicks organization or continue to destroy it from within. These are the only two options. I personally prefer he does the latter.
