They'll both get phased out next season in order for Kobe to jack up 23FGA per game (if he's healthy) on 34% shooting for his farewell tour.

they will be second and third options which is what they should be at this point in their careers as unproven rookies.

Yeah man, at this point, I'm just waiting for him to retire. Time for the next gen to take over but as long as Kobe is healthy, he will jack up shots like crazy.

or Kobe could dial down the volume scoring and slide into more of a veteran facilitator / spot-up shooter / team leader / mentor role, for the sake of the team's future and the short-term goal of contending for a title or two. And take a big paycut on his final contract.
It's possible.

You guys think Kobe really wants to dominate the ball? He is probably so happy now that he has a legit PG to get him easy points

no chance......he didn't even sit on the bench (while injured) for home games to mentor this past season, let alone fly with the team to put his 2 cents in.
Dude don't care about mentoring. He cares about his stats.

Russell assist on Kobe's makes. Randle rebounds Kobe's misses. Win-Win.

Russel hasn't made 1 assist in the NBA, you don't know if he's legit or not, even the scrubs in the NBA were good in college.
