If I were a knicks fan I'd want to trade melo now before he ages any more and gets further injured. Pick up a nice package of youth and draft picks and rebuild. Being a good destination all it would take is 2-3 promising young guys for free agents to want to come to new york. Porzingis plus a couple other young lottery picks and a sign they are making a fresh start and you'd have a desirable location.

The problem is they will over pay West, pick up grant and overpay for someone else in the JR mould and Melo will be convinced they are contending while the rest of the league shakes their heads and then in 2-3 years we will be having the exact same conversation.
