Euroleague

Mario Hezonja just gave an interview in Spanish press where they asked him about being drafted #5 by the Magic and everything. In that interview, they asked him about the usual stuff, like who is the best player in the draft is (him of course)...

When asked about who the best player in Europe is, he said it is Vassilis Spanoulis.

So again, you haters can SUCK IT.

Actually, what he said was,

"VSPan is the best player in Europe who isn't good enough for the NBA. He's great in this second-tier league, but in the NBA he couldn't even beat out Luther Head and averaged 2.7 PPG"

He made that up you freaking idiot.

Here is what he said,

On being picked by the Magic.
"People from Orlando visited me earlier in Barcelona. I had direct contact with the GM of the Magic, Rob Henning, and his assistants, Scott Perry and Matt Lloyd. We spent many hours together and he explained their plan."

On the best players he faced in Europe.
Vassilis Spanoulis, and then Rudy Fernandez and Sonny Weems.

He confirmed that with the GM of the franchise ahead of his departure from Barcelona: "No, no problems with the buyout. I'm done here."

The Croatian expects to spend 2-3 days in Barcelona, before flying to Orlando as soon as possible. Even Hennigan said he could play a few games of Summer League, depending on how fast the separation with Barca is resolved.

He also revealed who his role models are in terms of playing style and skills. Vassilis Spanoulis, Dimitris Diamantidis, and Carlos Arroyo. Not mentioning that the Puerto Rican played with the Magic between between 2006 and 2008.

Spanoulis is the most clutch European player of all time you freaking moron.

Spanoulis' team beat Hezonja's team 3-1 in the Euroleague playoffs. Spanoulis was being double teamed the whole series and still controlled and dominated the series. Hezonja was playing awful the whole time he was on the court, and was benched half the time he was so bad.

And yes, Hezonja needed double team help because he could not guard Spanoulis alone.

WTF are you smoking? Or are we just going to pretend now that the Euroleague playoffs between Barca (Hezonja's team) and Olympiacos (Spanoulis' team) did not even happen?

When he played in Real Madrid before he was their 4th string center. He was then demoted to the league below Euroleague level. Where he played in the same team with fellow 2015 draft picks Porzingis and Radicevic, in the 2nd tier European league, the Eurocup. In one of the absolute worst teams in the entire league by far.

Now Real Madrid are moving him back to their team again, to be their 4th string center once again.

Hope that helps.

You are such a freaking jackass.

Spanoulis and Diamantidis probably have the highest basketball IQs in the history of basketball.

And Arroyo is a very tough and competitive player that has big balls also.

If you were not such a complete racist POS, you would know that any player that patterned his game after Spanoulis and Diamantidis would actually be 10 times smarter than any player the NBA has ever seen.

Of course, truth is, Hezonja is nowhere near that smart.

And yet he supposedly outplayed Hezonja?

Evidently Hezonja wouldn't make the WNBA then.

What a complete waste of a #5 overall pick. Surely there have to be backups at Kentucky that are better than this clown.

Right, the magical NBA, where half of Kentucky's roster can make the NBA.

So the NBA is such a PIECE OF SHIT LEAGUE that a team that isn't even good enough to win the NCAA can put half of its roster in it.

Meanwhile, Hezonja, a THIRD STRING shooting guard in Euroleague, was unanimously said to be "instantly the best player on the Orlando Magic" by CBSSports.com's NBA Draft experts panel.....................

So NBA = a league where half of Kentucky (not good enough to win NCAA) gets drafted, and where a 3rd string Euroleague SG gets hailed by what are NBA executives and scouts no less as "instantly the best player on the Magic"...............

Hezonja was a third string SG on his team idiot.

ESPN has to MAKE UP LIES to explain this.

"His coach did not play him because he was coming to the NBA".

No, he was a third string, because Juan Carlos Navarro and Brad Oleson are BETTER PLAYERS than he is. Because he played like total shit in the Euroleague playoffs. Because his coach gave him a chance in the Euroleague playoffs against Spanoulis (with the help of a double team), and Spanoulis got a bad knee injury in game 1 mind you...............and even then Spanoulis completely destroyed him on defense. And on offense he looked like a high school player.

These are the reasons he was a third string player.

But people like YOU, are what they call the BRAINWASHED SHEEPLE and the BRAINDEAD MASSES. Something like ESPN, TNT, ABC, CBS, etc. can just claim whatever the hell they want and you retards just soak it up.

Towns would not log a minute on Hezonja's team you dimwit, and that's like the 6th to 7th best team in Europe.

Rubio has MADE 621 FTs in his entire four year NBA career.

Chamberlain had back-to-back seasons in which he MADE 835 (second all-time BTW), and 660.

Rubio has averaged 10.2 ppg in his NBA career (with a high season of 10.7 ppg). Wilt had one season in which he averaged 10.4 ppg...from the LINE.

The rest of the world against the best of the NBA (which would include any "Euro's" that are currently playing in the NBA...so only non-NBA vs NBA)...

12 vs 12...best-of-seven...

who wins?

Arroyo was a stud overseas

https://media1.giphy.com/media/QKuGLlUTp5lzG/200.gifGuy brought up his free throw shooting as an example of a big game where he faltered.

You responded by saying the game was rigged.

Now, rigged or not, what the hell would his free throw shooting have to do with it? That's still a big game where he missed over half of his free throws. Unless he was in on it, it being rigged had no impact on him making the easiest shot in basketball save for an uncontested layup.

Anyways, I'll concede that VSpan was/is one of the best players on Europe. Cool. I'm the best player among my out-of-shape friends. Roughly as impressive.

Mario is a kid. One that averaged minuscule minutes in euroleague and never guarded Spanoulis.

His opinion has the same value as my neighbor's, or less if he watches euroleague, something Mario doesn't do.

Now, Span is most likely the best player in Euroleague. But he's not even close to a top european player list so who cares? It's like if JR Smith got a team built around him were everyone played for him and no one asked any questions, Span has that in Greece, but he's an irrelevant European player.

Span is like Kobe minus the basketball talent. He can only play one way and that's his way. And surrounded by elite talent covering for his flaws that's enough to win a few Euroleague's here and there. But that's all he can do. If he didn't have his status quo of having a whole team playing for him then... well.. we already saw that in NBA.

Then there's the IQ thing, anyone heard Span talk? Guy is a simploid, a greek redneck, one of the worst kind of stupid.

Do all the players in all star games produce number like they would on their own teams? No? Well, same goes when with all star caliber fiba teams. Star players approach the tournament as a team oriented system...this means, guess what? Some become role players.

Let curry run his own team in euroleague and he dominates in the same fashion deron williams did in the eurochallenge.

And...If you dont agree, youre a lunatic, a psychopath and borderline retaded. Did i do this part right?

Actually Curry would do worse imo, he's bad against doubles and when bodies being thrown at him and it would happen a lot if he played in europe. Someone like LeBron would dominate even way more than he does in nba though as soon as he learns not to travel.

:biggums:

it's the opposite

Lebron is an awful off the ball player, he can beat his man but what does he do against a camped paint? Sure Lebron would dominate on talent and physicality alone, there is no question about that, but that's because he's Lebron. He's basically the worst kind of player for Euroleague, Curry is a much better fit, even though he would need to get used to the differences, he's a shooter and off the ball player who can also create for himself duh

Uhmm LeBron doesn't care about double teams as much and physical play doesn't phase him unlike it does to Curry. Camped paint means open 3s all day for his team and there is many great shooters in europe, often times in european clubs 4-5 players on the same team on the floor can hit a 3, it's not a coincidence that LeBron needs good shooters around him.

McGrady, Battier, Yao all said Spanoulis is one of the smartest basketball players they ever saw. And Spanoulis said Van Gundy would not coach again after Rockets fired him because he was a moron and no NBA teams would ever want him.

Jasikevicius also said Spanoulis is the smartest player in Europe along with Diamantidis.
