Not gonna lie, DJ/Randle/Kobe/Clarkson/Russell looks like a VERY nice core on paper. They'd be a playoff team without question.

He's overrated without having cp3 feeding him easy lobs does this guy have much else of an offensive game.. Also think he is overrated on D too.. While his stats are nice his team never ends up being a good defensive team over the course of a season

Hopefully the meeting is to just make sure he sabotages the Clippers next season.
**** that nikka....don't want him anywhere near my team. In Mitch I trust.

Reports (TMZ rumors) saying he's actually upset that he's not a bigger part of the offense. Feels he's being held back by Blake/Paul and is not cool with CP3. If true, do Lakers want this drama?

Hes gonna get exposed without the best passer/playmaker of this generation or best passing big since KG birdfeeding him. Most overrated defender in the league along with Bran too
First off I'd love having DJ on the Lakers... elite defenders and guys willing/love to do the dirty work are few and far between
that being said, he'll be back with the Clippers, he's not going anywhere this is just part of securing that big contract...
all the he's mad at cp3 or they don't get along is just noise... even if words were exchanged at some point it happens all the time on teams...

Him and Paul have hung out, yet, are clashing? Okay :applause:
If Jordan does leave, it'll be to Dallas, not across the hall. Realistically, he'll end up signing a 2 year deal with an option and test again next year.
Too bad S&T's are non-existent now

Yeah but the Lakeshow got the best passer/playmaker of this next generation so he'll be alright.
I can't believe DJ is still only 26. Feels like he's been in the NBA forever. Which is also weird because he didn't breakout until recently.

They're basically getting Dwight on the Lakers without the post game. :confusedshrug:
Deandre is a great player on both defense and offense, but Doc utilized him perfectly in the sense they never ran plays for him. I hope the Lakers or anyone else are not expecting more than that just because he's the best PnR finisher in the league.

I'd be happy if it happens, but I would really enjoy a C who is maybe a little cheaper, still decent on Defense, but can hit an above average amount of free throws.
Watching Hack-A-Whoever in the Playoffs was really.....really...time consuming. The games were hard to watch. I'm not sure it would be pleasant to go through that every close game of the season.

Your Clippers beat writer says the Chris Paul/DeAndre Jordan beef is real...
The season ended with Rivers denying reports Jordan and Chris Paul had a beef with each other.
But other NBA officials not authorized to speak publicly on the matter said there indeed is a rift between Jordan and Paul.

I would be very happy if he signs with the Lakers. I think he's more valuable than Marc because of age (Lakers aren't in win now mode) and LMA (because we have Randle already and would've to start some bum at C)
But except if his problems with the Clippers are very big, I don't see why would he leave a playoff team for a rebuilding team.

DJ could be the defensive anchor we need...if he'd sign for 18-19 mill and we get rid of Nick, that would give us another 8 mill to sign a 3 & D guy at the small forward. Someone like Danny Green or Kris Middleton would be ideal
Russ/Kobe/Green/Randle/DJ
Not bad that team makes noise if they can keep healthy.

Generally, this is the type of player you trade for. Once you spend all this money in free agency, you are tied down and can't really make any trades. Players that are traded, generally are more so in the middle, or later in their deal, not necessarily due to bad fit, but the other teams improvement, which can go back to what I wrote in another thread about the evolution of GM. When you go from 23 teams to 30 teams, the make up of a championship team still remains the same, but a new term calls window appears, since now a small trade and sign here and there makes you a 1st rounder to conference finalist.
I'm waiting, and can't say excited but intrigued about who, and how can a team bring back a 1st pick after making it to the championship serie
Notice how the Lakers hadn't done any trades in the past few years. Yes, there is the notorious Jeremy Lin deal, which might have something to do with houston wanting him out of town more than anything else.

I'd rather him stay on the Clippers. I don't see him being as successful elsewhere, plus the last thing I want to see is a Lakers game going an hour over because of hacking.
...not that we'd be in a winning position where hacking would be required, though. :(

I don't understand how people are saying he's defense is overrated, if you watched the Spurs and clippers series, dude was literally swatting everything and got the Spurs shook for even thinking of driving when he was there. He's man to man is not that good, but he's an amazing rebounder/putback dunker/lob catcher and shot blocker.

That's what I'm saying.
He's an overrated rim protector who doesn't seem to care much about winning.

"Deandre Jordan wants to be more involved in the offense."
How about Deandre Jordan hits a ****ing free throw first?

DJ is a great defensive anchor and rebounder, but he'll want a max contract, can't hit FTs and will probably be exposed without CP3 and Blake setting him up.
So no thanks.

Clipppers can't afford to lose Deandre, they have no legit center to start 82 games for them. Unless they wanna go the whole season with Blake Griffin starting at C like Draymond Green did the last three games of the Finals.

Jordan would fill a lot of holes for the Lakers... He'd fit well with their current team. Don't see him leaving tho. This is just a ploy to get the clippers to give him a player option.

id rather have dmc
yes they would.
Kobe probably won't even make it that far into the season, plus he sucks now anyway. Russel is a rookie. I'm not sure why anyone expects much from Randle who got injured and missed his whole first season, which usually doesn't indicate anything good (Blake griffin is the exception, not the norm.) And DJ is a huge liability who's flaws will only get exacerbated playing with worse teammates.
More importantly, who's spot are they taking? There's no reason to believe that that every western conference team that made the playoffs last year won't make it again other then Portland. And there spot will be taken by OKC anyway.

Lol yeah barring some massive offseason moves, the Lakers won't be in the playoff mix. Their focus right now is the development of their young core and making them presentable for potential free agents in the coming years.

DJ would be a good add to the Lakers, assuming that DLo develops like a lot feel he could. He has incredible court vision, no matter what the competition level you talk about.
Signing of DJ would not make them a playoff contender right away, would need a team to implode or fall out of contention due to injuries. I am a die hard Lakers fan, but realistically I think a successful season is going to be a .500 season with showing improvement over previous years.
Clarkson, Randle and Dlo are all 1st to 2nd year players. All 3 look very talented and "should" be able to transition to the NBA. but until they do, they are still only prospects. That being said, you add DJ to that core it is a good start. With a bit of playing time they should be able to give some teams a run for their money. Once this upcoming season end, depending on what KB does plus the increase of payroll, Lakers could well be on their way to contending again in a few years if their young nucleus grows together.
