Does Duncan play the 5? And are the Spurs immediate favorites behind the Warriors (no excuses for defending champs)?
Parker - Mills
Green - Ginobilli
Leonard - Belinelli
Aldridge - Diaw
Duncan - Splitter
Is a good ****ing team :biggums:

Obviously they're not letting Aldridge play at the 5 when they have Duncan there. Also, if the Spurs want to make it back to the Finals they have to have both Parker and Ginobili playing well and being healthy. That was what killed them last year.

Mills should start TBH he was way better last season and a top 3 6th man candidate IMO (Iggy and Tristan bein the other 2)
Tonys overrated @zz been bench player level for a min. Pop let him try one last time in the playoffs and CP ate his @zz, time for the next era.........but that team is stacked

We can't keep both Green and Splitter if we sign Aldridge.
From my understanding, we can't keep either unless we let get of someone else and re-sign Manu and Tim for less than $8 million together.
Tony buying fastfood with Tim's money is gonna haunt us for year's to come, though.

No way the FO keeps Green. They're already trying to dump Splitter to make room.

if a team offers kahwi a max and he accepts, spurs got to trade tiago fast to keep kawhi and get lma at close to a max and duncan has to take less than 5 and ginobli has to take less than 4-3

They could keep Green & sign LMA if they dump Diaw & Splitter, which may be a bad idea to eliminate that kind of depth. Still though, that starting 5 is insanely good.

Right. Keep telling yourself that...
LeBron will go down as all time great no doubt. The guy is a generational athlete, unlike any ever seen. But his shortcomings are well documented and will never be oversighted.
Btw - I don't give a flying f*uck how he fares against the likes of Steph or anyone for that matter. My analysis is geared strictly towards LBJ alone.

Having to run a PG/SG/SF lineup of Parker/Manu/Kawhi against the likes of OKC and GS makes me die inside a little.
We're done if we lose Green.

Isn't Manu retiring or something.
I wouldnt mind seeing Kawhi Leonard as the #1 option for an entire year

At this point, being healthy throughout the season and firing on all cylinders going into the playoffs means more than their actual roster IMO. Of course an Aldridge or M. Gasol would help. And when Green is on, he's so helpful. But for a team that relies on cohesiveness and equal contributions in wins, Spurs can't afford to have a season with 20+ different starting lineups or a season where either Kawhi or Splitter or Parker are nursing lingering injuries

There is a thing called the salary cap
No way in hell can the Spurs afford Green let alone Belinelli if they are signing Aldridge
Timmy D for MVP

I want Aldridge because we can transition very nicely with him and Kawhi after Tim leaves.
BUT: A drawback is that we'd have to let Danny Green walk and trade Splitter. Those are two HUGE components to the success of the past few years. I'm not sure what the FO has in mind for the SG spot if DG leaves, and we'll need more quality depth at the 5.

It's basically compete now or possibly compete in the future (post Duncan/Pop).
We're gonna get decimated by Golden State or OKC in the Playoffs without Green.

I wouldn't be so sure about that.
Green's defense is very very very good, but there are many ways to combat losing a guy like him.
The Spurs will be better with LMA than they would be with Green/Splitter. They'll be different, but better.

And they still won't repeat. Duncan should just join Kobe or Bron before it's too late - even if it's just a bench role. Learn from true dominant players..... or in the case of Bron, luck.

Man If Duncan had been drafted to the Lakers with prime Shaq they would have won about 10 straight titles. No one could stop prime Shaq and even rookie Duncan. They would have had 4 years on Duncan's rookie contracts so they could have quality players, then once Duncan hits his prime and Shaq is still in his prime if not his peak, goodnight to the rest of the league.

Talking about ring count - and he matched them.
Now Kobe's got nothing to do but talk all day.
Also, I like how you avoided that last point. The fact that there are people saying the team would be better off without their all time great is frankly embarrassing. :facepalm

First, you delete your ignorant post because it showed the lack of knowledge you possess, and exposed your 3rd rate trolling.
Second, you spin the context of that Duncan interview - the theme being greatness and what 5 rings would signify for Duncan's legacy, to be among greats of the caliber of Kobe, Magic, etc... it wasn't an off comment. You tried a second time at dismissal, you failed.
Third, The Kobe comment context was about how Duncan, Pop, Parker, Gino, the core of the Spurs has been able to stick together, unlike him with Phil, Pau, Odom....
Fourth, you're asking me to address or give a shit about the opinion of clowns, a minority at that. I don't give a shit.
Next clown please.

Spurs fans, the past 2 years of the Lakers is your future. Good luck with Kawhi down syndrome leonard and a 31 year old Aldridge as your building blocks. Tim Duncan, Manu, and Parker arent walking through that door will be the mantra when the next coach takes over for Popavich after Duncan, Manau, and Popavich retire.
The Spurs had ZERO titles before Duncan. Lakers had 11 titles before Kobe. Guess which franchise will win more titles after Duncan and Kobe retire.

Too bad they can't get rid of Tony Parker.
Yah let's get rid of a player who has been a top-6 MVP candidate twice in the last few years and led the Spurs in scoring and assists throughout the regular season and playoffs (while being the only All-Star and All-NBA player on the team) literally one year ago for another championship.
But because he was injured half the season and in the playoffs last year, let's get rid of him. Wow. Good thing you knee-jerk reactors don't work in the front office. You guys would have gotten rid of Duncan in 2011.

I don't think the Spurs have the space to do all that. If they sign Aldridge it'll be at the expense of the deep roster.
