It's actually a somewhat good quote.
Like you'll see all these teenagers, and young people, and really humanity in general, in a sense, continuously trying to impress their friends. Those f ing idiots, all acting stupid.
Can you imagine Kobe, or someone who's driven by something, taking time away from that to entertain idiots?
If a Kobe was like regular person in that sense, he would not had been an NBA superstar.
I know it's hard to understand, but for example a lot of teenagers waste their opportunities worrying and trying to impress other dumb and immature teenager, rather than focusing on a real goal.

It's that Michael Jordan mentality. :applause:
That's definitely not Jordan's mentality. People like to comment that he's some psychotic teammate because certain intense in the heat of the moment situations and because he yells, but the guy is rather loyal.
Jordan strikes me as a guy who lives in the moment, and would go visit people from his past if he happens to be around.
I'm sleepy, so can't think of many examples, but gets pissed off when they trade some of his friends. And yesterday I read one comment, that hopefully wasn't true. That Jordan picked a pick, because he knew the player's mom, and family like 20 years ago.
Patrick Ewing, Charles Oakley, so many players, and maintains friendships with so many random people. He's basically the type of guy who just wants to hang out and play cards all day long, with a bunch of friends.

Jordan only plays cards and hangs out only with his USA teammates and a few guys he's cool with from the Bulls. Everybody else from the Bulls hates him. The only trades Mike was mad about was when Charles Oakley and Jason Caffey got traded. That's not some people. Only a couple.

Someone posted this about Jordan the other day
It's been said that MJ often favours people he knows regardless of talent (his starting 5 included James Worthy, an NC connection).
Is James Worthy hung like Pippen?
MJ said his ideal team is Magic/himself/Pippen/Worthy/Hakeem
Magic & Hakeem have legitimate GOAT arguments for their positions.
But Pippen & Worthy as his forwards? That's basically a sarcastic insult.
Is there something psychological going on with MJ here?

Dude, how are you comparing stupid high school teenage cheerleaders that are trying to win a popularity contest to true life-long friendships? Of course vapid, surface level high school friendships that are based on trying to be the most impressive of your peers are dumb, but true friendship lasts a lifetime.
Don't get me wrong, the goal to achieve and leave a legacy is a very noble and important ambition, but so the f*ck are having close friends and family.

Did someone say if Kobe had friends he wouldn't be in the NBA? :lol
How much time do you think having friends takes up? Its weird how other NBA players have friends, its almost as if its just because Kobe seems an awkward person with no interpersonal skills.

But the man's all about basketball, admirable for every real basketball fan.

Kobe is very close to his family, and there are always life long friends who are select and few. That doesn't change the fact that most people go on through life trying to impress stupid people. Kobe is also not going to develop life long friendships with players coming and going.
And I wasn't talking about stupid high school leader, I'm talking about most young people.

No, I said if Kobe was worried about impressing stupid people, rather than being the way he is about his game, then he wouldn't have been at the level that he's in. That's much different than saying that he wouldn't have made it to the NBA.

Kids these days, LeBron fans in particular, really can't grasp statements like these, so they shout out insults like "sociopath" "weird" "chucker".
They just cannot understand what it means to literally want to win more than anything. More than being famous, more than having a bunch of friends, more than sleeping.
Nope, these guys just can not fathom completely dedicating oneself to a goal and getting it done at any cost. No distractions, no excuses.
Sadly, these same kids would be mocking people like Einstein, Ghandi , Tesla, Mozart, Newton, Michelangelo and Darwin too as they too put limited importance on friends and instead accomplished something that will stand forever.

What kind of an asshole doesn't notify the team he is leaving before doing a live tv special :facepalm
If he called them up before and said he was leaving it wouldn't be a big deal. And then the "not 1 not 2..." "this gonna be easy" and all the other shit he said after it just makes it look worse.
