Anyone know why they split the summer leagues? Also, iirc, Orlando isn't available to the public and the Vegas one you can buy tickets. I've been the Vegas one a few times and it's a neat little thing. Kind of an aau feel with multiple games going on in different gyms at the same time, just with professional basketball players on the court and hanging around the arena. Maybe a location thing? It feels like Orlando is missing out on some revenue.
I like summer league ball tho. There's always a few scrubs that go off, people hype, and they don't do shit in the NBA.

Orlando hosts theirs in their own practice gym. It isn't big enough to hold guests. I agree I hope at one point they do make it open though. Paying like $5 to go see some pretty high level basketball is pretty chill. Utah is actually hosting a super small one this year too.

When you're airballing layups, you ain't good.
If Rasheed Wallace taught me anything, it's that the ball don't lie. Winslow is no exception.

Very, very, pleased with Turner...Couldn't be happier so far. Pleasantly surprised...He showed a bit of everything today, shot blocking, running the floor, mid range, post game, screen setting, rebounding......

I didn't say he was playing good. I wasn't being sarcastic or anything. Just saying somehow he's still the best +/- player on the court.

How was his athleticism today?
He looked like a stiff at texas, but in pre draft workouts he went to some specialists, and they adjusted his gait. Then in his pre draft videos, he looked far more explosive, I wonder how that will translate to the nba.
People really underrate how bad barnes was as a coach at texas, that was a terrible situation for turner, playing alongside two other big men in Holmes and ridley.
I think turner could be a really good role player down the road. That combination of shot blocking and shooting touch is rare, plus he's still so young.

I thought he played an excellent game. However there were a few times I felt he tried to do too much/over dribbled but I guess Summer League is about trying out new things in your game so I can give him a pass. His shooting motion looks improved even on his misses. I see no reason at all he can't become a Draymond Green clone for our team.
Elfrid looked pretty passive the whole game but Im the least worried about him next to Vuc on the Magic so its whatever.
Marble was pretty impressive too, 6 steals I believe. On the flipside, I think Nate Wolters would make a pretty good 3rd PG for some teams. Great maturity about his game.

welters indeed has a nice all around game, i mean he looks like a very rich man's dellavedova and is legit 6'3/6'4 whereas dellavedova is 6'2. i'm still convinced delly has naked bron dick pics or something.

Kaminsky looks solid. He's missing a lot of shots, but they aren't difficult shots. I'll just chalk it up to nerves this time. Surprisingly active hands on defense.
This Wallace kid is a scrub. I don't think he was drafted or anything, but he's so bad out there you have to notice.
Don't think anyone is standing out on OKC much, other than a couple plays from McGary. What happened to that PG they drafted? Wanted to see him play.

I don't think people who mocked Detroit and Charlotte for their picks are going to have much to stand on in a few years. Maybe Winslow ends up better than them, but as far as I can tell, he's not much better than either them right now (if he's even better than them...). And they both have considerable upside, like Winslow. I think Johnson has a higher ceiling.
Not based off today btw. I'm still predicting Winslow and Johnson to be Jeff Green-level players where occasionally they'll play like a star and they'll always leaving you wanting more.
