How many Finals MVP's does each have?

Both have been the best overall player 5/6 times

The difference is one had a consistent Pippen-level performer in each finals, while the other didn't

Worst defensive teams?

2002 Nets
1998 Jazz
2015 Warriors
1991 Lakers
2000 Pacers weren't amazing defensively either.

1991 Lakers were ranked top five in the league that season. 2009 Magic were just as overrated as the 2015 Warriors. Beyond Dwight Howard, who padded their defensive statistics ... kind of pedestrian.

The best defenses out of these teams faced in the Finals were:

'96 Sonics, 2004 Pistons, 2008 Celtics, 2010 Celtics, 2007 Spurs

Well, we know how much that is worth.

I have seen 80% of the games from 1990-91 and the backcourt was awful defensively.

Scott and Magic could not stop a nosebleed.

LoL at using MJs finals high, completely stat padded 11 assists a game as an indicative of his passing ability. That should be taken with a grain of salt as he was trying to 'out pass' Magic. :oldlol:

MJs assists fell off in his second 3-peat. There's no way ur arguing MJ is a better overall finals assist man than LeBron

He was winning Finals games with teams Kobe would've lost in the 1st round with, there's no way they overachieve both years without LeBron playing 'winning' basketball

No. Same way Kobe didn't in 2000, 2004, and 2008.

Good. So Lebron played bad in 2007 and 2011.

He played non-winning or passive basketball in 2014 and 2015.

And he was nothing special (borderline awful) for most of the 2013 finals.

And yet he ranks over Kobe who played better teams and had legitimate issues when he stunk up the joint (sprined ankle and rape case).

If lebrons 2014-2015 finals is a benchmark for 'bad', then Kobes best finals would be categorized as 'truly awful'

Give Kobe 65 iso's every game and you would see insane stats and a loss.

No player has every played more destructive playground basketball in the NBA finals.

2009 > all but but maybe....maybe 2012.

5 good quarters at the end of the 2013 Spurs series not enough. Kobe destroyed those Spurs teams far more convincingly (and back when Manu, Parker and Duncan were not senior citizens).

Christ man, can you just put your hate aside to think clearly for one minute. What strategy was going to win the series for the cavs against the warriors with the circumstances the way they were? Seriously smart guy. Tell me.

Lebron was their only shot, and it was a snowball's chance in hell, and they somehow won 2 games. I'd say they massively overachieved. Get the hell outta here with not winning basketball bs. They were never going to win that series with both Love and Kyrie out.

The top 5 finals, scoring 5 are : MJ (4) and Lebron (1). Lebron's is a much better scorer than even most of his fanboys give him credit for. 35 ppg in the finals is no small feat.

You're right, my fault. I was going to say he shot bad but not like LeBron 2007 level putrid. That does move him up two spots. Actually MJ's '91 Finals of 31 ppg, on blistering efficiency from the field should be higher than Kobe's 2009 wig just 1 higher ppg as well. Thanks for catching my mistake.

We are talking about stats, mvps, fmvps, and then rings(playoff total record is also important because losing in rd 1 is pretty bad).
