The Los Angeles Daily News reports that the Los Angeles Lakers would trade No. 2 pick D'Angelo Russell "tomorrow," if that alone would complete a deal for Kings center DeMarcus Cousins.
This process will take years, not a year.
You shortcut it at your peril, even if the Lakers were willing to trade their No. 2 pick for Sacramento's even-higher-maintenance-than-Dwight-Howard DeMarcus Cousins ... and would send Russell up there tomorrow if that would do it, a league source told me.

:facepalm aricle says nothing about "lakers would trade russell for Cousins" not even an anonymous lakers quote
The only thing in the whole article that mentions it is the author suggesting it's something the lakers could do if they wanted to accelerate getting back to the playoffs
stay losing OP

Wtf no
Hell to the No for that. If Boogie can't lead the Queens to 30 wins, I can't expect him to do the same here. Same situation, I rather have the Lakers built the team through our young guys and make a run at free agency when you have that team identity just like before Shaq came over.

Don't shoot the messenger, mate.
Then why not quote the lakers gm, instead of an anonymous source that is almost assuredly from cousins' camp?

Again, I'm not doing deep intensive research on this; I am not a detective. I saw an article about this, perused it and then posted it. Articles like this are so frequently posted on ISH about every team.

Lakers would be smart to trade Russell, Randle for Cousins, Collison, Thompson
Then throw 20M per year at LMA
Collison - Clarkson
Kobe --- free agent
Nick Young --- free agent
Aldridge - Thompson
Cousins --- free agent
Then Kobe expires and Durant has a chance to team up with Aldridge and Cousins
Kobe comes back for a discount
Kobe -- Durant -- Aldridge -- Cousins
Skip Bayless could start at PG and they would still go to the WCF

Randle, Clarkson and fillers for DMC
+ Denver sending out Ty Lawson to SAC (karl loves lawson)
that's the most I'd offer them
or they can keep him and get lowballed by the rest of the league when he wants out next season.

This supposed to be news?
They'd trade Russell, Randle, and their next first rounder for Cousins and Collison without thinking...and rightly so.
LOL
Lakers fans straight up scurred now :oldlol:
Scared of what? Cousins, Russell either one is good player to have on the team.. Nearly every Laker fan was in favor of Cousins coming to the Lakers as long as the trade was in reason and 99% of Laker fans like Russell as a draft pick ...
So not sure what your comment even means other than you don't now shit about anything

If the Lakers actually did this, I would never watch another Lakers game again. I certainly wouldn't use their box seats again.

of course the gm is gonna back his draft pick, right up until the minute he trades him. hes trying to keep him happy, and his trade value high.

This is false.
Mitch and Byron were so high on Russell that they reconsidered the initial Cousin's trade. If they really wanted Cousins, they would have had him by now. You can sure as hell bet the Lakers would say no if the Kings offered them Cousins again.
