Greg Monroe suggested that he won't return to the Pistons next season, saying, "I don’t want to be anywhere I’m not wanted."

He hopes to join a team "that's ready to win," where he can be "the missing piece." but he has the Knicks on his list?

“Stan had smaller teams in Orlando (Magic) years ago,” Monroe said. “Dre is like Dwight Howard. So Stan wants to put good players around him. The team has different plans, and I respect that. I don’t want to be anywhere I’m not wanted.”

Five teams have shown serious interest — the Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Lakers and Portland Trail Blazers. Monroe said he’ll meet with those teams this week.

He is a nice consolation prize for cheaper if teams miss out on LMA, Gasol or Love

Dude has been shopped around the last couple years. Can't blame him for wanting to leave.

This wasn't obvious when he took the 1 year QO last year?:facepalm

Over-rated big-man. Is pretty decent offensively, but he hurts his teams just as much on the defensive end.

SVG totally mishandled the Monroe situation from 10 seconds after landing the job.

Not a surprise in the least.

Especially after SVG said Monroe would be a backup to Dre and Illasova if he returns...

Van Gundy's GM skills are fully in question at this point.

He'll be an underrated pickup for whichever team he joins.

High IQ player and dude averaged 10 boards a game playing next to Drummond, while averaging only 30 mins a game.

Been obvious for awhile that him and Drummond weren't going to work together. Is Monroe a RFA or UFA? I think he signed his QO last season, right?

Celtics would be a good destination, but after the draft I have no idea what they're doing as a franchise.

Pls not to the Celtics.

He can score in the post and rebound, but he can't shoot or defend. Don't want for that money

Pretty much.

He has fantastic footwork, and knows how to get to the right spot to secure rebounds, proven he can be a go to low post scorer. Underrated passer too.

Unlike Drummonds rebound numbers (which are mostly missed tip attempts), Monroe's rebounds go back in the basket.

Only downsides are:

Needs to develop the mid-range jumper.
Lack of mobility on defensive end.
Thinks he gets fouled on every possession.

Lakers priority must be a small forward or a defensive center, if we miss on LMA, Jordan, Butler and Leonard (probably will) then I would think about Monroe

Seemed like he had a great future until Drummond showed up. Can't blame Detroit for wanting to keep Drummond. They clog the floor together. They need a stretch four.

 Right because shotblocking is the only defensive skill that matters for a big. Bold is a flat out lie. The truth is closer to Monroe doesn't make a difference for better or worse on the defensive end. He's not hurting his team being on the floor.

Suns makes sense for both sides, but aren't one of the listed teams

For the money he'll command, I don't think I want him in Boston if he's not a guaranteed rim protector.
