Here's the thing Melo, you can't be upset with the way things are playing out in NYC. YOU chose to stay in NY, even when other teams (Bulls/Rockets) were offering you the chance to make a championship run, YOU wanted the money.

Now, I will never hate on a guy for taking as much money as he can. This is America, where you are free (and encouraged) to get it while you can.

On the flip side, you made a conscious decision to stay with the Knicks knowing they needed an overhaul, and with your salary demands ($23m this season), you knew the position you were putting the Knicks in.

We all told you, back in free agency, that if you wanted to win a ring (or simply to play on a winning team) you would need to leave. You chose to stay. Valiant of you in a way, but when it gets right down to it, you chose money over wins.

You chose $$ > WINS

So don't cry about how the team isn't going to be awesome next season. The Knicks are going to suck for as long as they have to pay you, and you may never sniff a conference finals again. It's not Phil's fault. It's not the rookies fault. It's your fault.

melo made comments that were contrary to what they are saying on IG, could it be damage control? Maybe, but I am going to go with what he said over some lame journalists who like to fabricate stories.

Isola was told the same things so there might be something to it. In which case i agree 100% with OP. I defend Melo a lot, and he taks shit he doesn't deserve, but he can't expect the Knicks to bandaid this thing based on his timetable.

Melo and the Knicks are screwed. I can't understand for the life of me why they made that Chandler trade. Now they're stuck with Calderon, less cap space and an entirely depleted roster. They should have kept SHumpert too just for some depth.
