Monroe shoots 70% from the FT line? I'll take'em.

Basically this.

I'd want Monroe if my team needed some post offense. I'd want DeAndre if my team needed post defense and rebounding.

Depending on supporting cast of course but the vast majority of the time, I would take DJ because he fits in many more situations. With Monroe, you need a rim protector next to him. With DJ, you don't even need to feed him the ball and he'll still give you 12 points a game, 15 boards and 2 blocks. Great rim defender and his presence alone alters how teams attack the paint.

Monroe is no slouch on the boards either. He averaged 10 rpg playing next to Drummond (2nd behind Jordan in rebounding) while only playing 30 mpg

elite offense vs elite defense
Neither player has elite offense or defense

I wouldn't really want either because of the type of money they command.

For a team such as the Pels or Thunder, then Moose easily,

Moose / Davis
Moose / Ibaka

but if it were a team such as the Mavs or Heat, then Jordan easily,

Jordan / Dirk
Jordan / Bosh

Truly depends on the type of player you would be sharing the front court with...

I take DeAndre. If you are depending on Monroe's offense, your team is in trouble. Easier to have a defensive big and fill in offense around him.

For the Knicks? I'd rather take Khris Middleton AND Demarr Carrol (sp?) at their more cap friendly deals than either Monroe or DJ at the max.

I'd say both Middleton and Carroll will be looking at 11 - 13 mill each per season, not sure if you can class that as "cap friendly"

Jordan, between the 2. Monroe can score for certain, But we need boards and D.
