I say somewhere in between.

somewhere between the biggest bust (who was worthless) and the GOAT Euro?

what a ballsy judgment :applause:

Ceiling: KG on offense, very good on defense

Floor: Who the **** knows? He's one of the longest players in the league and he can run and shoot. That's rotation level on a playoff team even if he doesn't pan out at all.

the next.... i have no idea

why would i?

do i sit here and analyze retired nba players and compare them to newer guys in the league? or is that what YOU virgins do all day, because i sure as **** wouldnt know who to compare this guy to, let alone give an accurate prediction on how his nba career will turn out.... considering ive never watched one single highlight video of said player.

I'd say he's gonna be a combination of Tayshaun Prince and Dirk - God willing.

He's way more athletic than both. Then again, there was a similar player named Jan Vesely with the hot girlfriend. What's he up to now?

He plays above the rim more than Dirk ever did. Part of that is because he is at least an inch taller and has a longer wingspan.

But Dirk is much more fluid in his movements. Porzingas is much more mechanical with his movements. Dirk in his younger days was like Gumby. That style for a 7 footer is unreal. That is a major reason why even now he can contort his body in weird positions just to get a shot off.

He (IMO) will not be as good as Dirk. But it remains to be seen to how good he will be. Dirk was one of those guys that got to where he is by working endlessly on his game. For the first 5-7 years, he came back every year with some improvement.

Couldn't rebound? Became one of the best rebounders in the game
Can't post up? Became one of the best high post players in the league
Can't pass through double teams? Became very good at passing out of dobles in the post

Let's see if Porzingas has that drive to improve. The great ones do.

Jan couldn't shoot. He went 1-21 on jumpers to start his career. Once people realized that, he couldn't play offense because guys just conceded the J. He couldn't hit FT's so he just got hacked whenever he got to the rim.

@the guy who said Kristaps is more athletic than young dirk.....google Dirk playing vs. America in the U19 Us-World game. He was going coast to coast against Rashard Lewis and Al Harrington

you use espn that much to the point youre making searches on there? hmm.

yes, most of the time google takes me to espn link where i eventually find the stats but sometimes its basketball reference or some other shitty website.

but maybe i should skip google all together and just use espn as a search engine? save time, limit my choices...

but no, you googled his name and clicked on the espn link like everyone else does, which is what i originally exposed you for doing.

Worst case scenario - Bargnani

Best case scenario - 2nd option on a contending team, all-star, top 5 PF, Pau Gasol type status when at the Lakers (Not quite on Dirk's level)

Most likely scenario - I think if Jonathon Bender and Channing Frye were to have a son, and then that son was to take the best parts out of each of his dads game and reach his full potential - then that is what I think Porzingas will become.

I am intrigued to see how he does in the NBA. -I want him to do well

I don't think he has dirk-like potential, but he could def flop like Darko. Hopefully hes good

AK is a terrible comp. He plays nothing like AK and isn't and will never be in the same universe as AK defensively.

yes. i was rooting for either Mario or WCS the whole time. i was kind of terrified of the KP rumors for us. i think there are a lot of issues with his game and his chance of busting is too high. i don't really see dirk ceiling either... i really think that's a weird comparison for him

A 7 foot euro who can shoot the 3 ball, it's really not that weird of a comparison - it was always bound to happen,

It's very unfair on KP to compare him to not only the greatest Euro player of all time, but to one of the greatest PF's to ever have lived - what is Dirk like, 6th on the all-time scoring list now?...

But yeah I agree with you, if you look past the 7 foot euro shooter thing, their games really aren't that similar at all....
