Don't think they would trade Splitter unless they had a pretty good idea that Aldridge was going to sign with them. Spurs are nasty, really impressive work by their Front Office, they've always been a great FO but wow, this is really impressive if it goes down.

Duncan
Aldridge
Leonard
Green
Parker

And knowing the Spurs and Manu, odds are they'll get him to sign on for cheap to stay the Sixth Man. Crazy.

Yea...it has to be a lock now.

Trading Splitter on a good contract like that is killer unless you are replacing him.

No way the Spurs do this unless they are close to 100% certain about LMA.

Or maybe they have a plan B that is a lock that they like more than Splitter...that is also possible.

Also, really like Splitter on the Hawks. I think that would really help Al Horford. Millsap has to be essentially gone now...and to be honest...I kind of like that for the Hawks in the playoffs next year. Might struggle in the regular season a bit more, but I think Splitter makes them better in the playoffs.

Just bring back Carroll and it's a nice team.

Probably so. Either him or Carroll.

There is no move to make. You don't have the assets.
We'll keep Harris and Millsap

Spurs just made this an absolute no-brainer for Aldridge, if he passes on going to San Antonio now, I really have to question his sanity. He gets to go back to Texas, to a stacked team with a core that has multiple Championships, best Coach in the League, he fits perfect in their scheme and Leonard is there long term even after Duncan retires.

Yea.

Everyone says he isn't afraid of following in the footsteps of Duncan or Dirk, but if he passes on this...he's scared.

i'm pretty sure the trade of Splitter has some agreement from LMA behind it...they wouldnt just let him go like that without something in return. unless they got a no from LMA, and Duncan was like eff it at the meeting due to LMA not signing and said he'll jjust retire and Spurs go in complete rebuild mode lol

Seems fitting. David Robinson was there to usher Duncan into the franchise on his way out. Duncan will now play Robinson's role with Aldridge and pass that torch lol.

Sad to see Tiago go, but I'm glad he's with the Hawks.

Seeing him in a Cavs jersey would have felt so wrong.

AS you know, something needs to be included from the Hawks' end. Since SA is looking to drop salary, I'd say it's likely a euro-stash, or a protected SECOND round pick.

Good pick up for the hawks, though. If they lose out on Milsap, Horford can finally start at 4. His wet dream since coming into the league.

That's gonna be a real short dream if you've heard the rumblings from Spurs fans about Splitter's durability :lol

Part of what made the Hawks good this year was ball movement and being able to space the floor with Milsap. Splitter doesn't provide that option and Horford doesn't shoot outside of 15-18 ft. It would be a different dynamic.

It would be a different dynamic.I think its still a net gain for the Hawks considering how great Splitter is with the pick and roll. Both offensively and defensively.

He's also one of the best passing bigs in the league. Should fit in nicely with the Hawks team.

Should start if Milsapp leaves, move Al to PF where he would rather play anyway.

actually think Splitter is underrated some. per minute he's pretty good. he's just injury prone and pop kept his minutes low. his offense around the rim can be soft, but clearly he can be used on a championship (caliber) team. glad he got his career started in SA and it was a success story.. vs. the dragged out saga of say Luis Scola. Hope he works out for coach Bud and the Hawks
