what kind of topsy curvy world do we live in where being a two time champion is considered a bad pitch? the egos on some of these guys, Kobe ain't no fluffer he kept it real, the best Lamarcus can be is the 2nd option of a title contender.

Kobe ain't no 1st option any more Ace. And he is telling people they are going to do his work. Color me shocked that that isn't appealing to elite ball players.

You think Kobe is still a #1 option?

Kobe's basically saying "Carry me to the championship, and give me the FMVP regardless"

sad ending to kobes career

constant injuries, abandoned by pau, and ignored by every big free agent...

back 2 back 2 back lottery visits to cap off kobes career.... :(

Because it's not 2009, and Kobe is a shell.

It's an insult. Aldridge is a BETTER player today, and it's not even close. Kobe is a delusional old fvck. :lol

Over the hill player telling guys in their prime:"Come here and you too can be my bitch."

Shocking that it isnt a winning pitch I know.

The majority of Laker fans (read: Kobe stans) shat on Pau whenever things went bad for the Lakers. Calling him Gasoft. Now you got a 35 year old has been chucker selling the same pitch and you don't realise what's wrong with that? Lol

How hard must LMA have cringed inside, they're at this Meeting and Kobe 'I eat first' Bryant is honestly talking about his late prime days, the guy with a season left and by all evidence done, starts comparing him to his Gasol? Jeez

Not as worse as telling Dwight 'let me show you how to win', though...

He didn't say be my Pau, he said that he sees them working together like him and Gasol did. Only the idiotic fanboys are making a bigger deal out of a quote that was tweeted incorrectly. Kobe said nothing wrong.

good medicine is bitter but it cures, Dwight needs to be taught how to win, Kobe was spot on, but again these new age buffoons with "everyone is a winner" mentality just can't be bothered to learn.

and the funny thing is Pau absolutely loved playing wiht Kobe, to this day Pau and Kobe regard each other like brothers, I wouldnt be surprised if Pau named his firstborn Kobe or Koba after Bryant

It's probably true, but it's dumb to say it in his face.
They should keep Kobe off the meetings.
He sucks at negotiations.

As a Laker fan, I can't wait till he retires. He's like a dark cloud hanging over our franchise scaring all the potential FA away. Thank you for what you've done but I'm ready for a new era.

How is Kobe Bryant a better scorer than Aldridge at this point in his career? He's going to be 37, has had his last three seasons ended by injury, just averaged 22 points on 37% before his latest season-ender. I realize that some of us just can't face reality but this is the point in his career where Bryant only gets worse, not better. If Aldridge is looking to any Laker to help him carry the load it would be Russell, not Bryant. No one is signing with LA because they want to play with Bryant long-term. That's a silly fantasy.

the point is that Lamarcus should not haven taken offense to the comparison to Pau, it was a generous one

LMA understands that Pau was the true #1 option for the Lakers but never got the credit he deserved. LMA ain't puttin up with that crap.

Lakers needs to put a tape in Kobe's mouth. The more he talks, the harder it gets for the Lakers to sign a free agent.

I don't think he necessarily implied that LMA would be the 2nd option. He's saying basketball wise they could play together because LMA's scoring skillset is comparable to Pau. It really doesn't matter at all because Kobe's gone after a year anyway..

You guys can try to paint it any way you want but you know the way LMA heard it. It was stupid for Kobe to even be there. What he wanted to hear was a franchise that is moving into a new Era, not that he would be playing pau to Kobe on the Lakers.

Kobe isn't the Pope guys. He is fallible.

The point is, his statements hinted that he wasn't willing to relent his grasp on the alpha position and he would wear on LMA all season long and LMA didn't want to deal with that. Kobe needs to know his place. He should be a spot player, not an alpha or even 2nd fiddle. He should be trying to fit in within the team instead of trying to impose his alpha status. No one wants to deal with that. It wears on you and that's why Dwight left.
