Sneaky good because of the length of the contract....although I don't actually love the fit here.
Pelicans rushed the process.....should have had Noel and 2 young players for what they ended up giving up for Jrue/Asik
That's why you don't rush it...
That said....12 million locked in for 5 years is nothing with the increases coming

Asik sucks. I seriously don't get why people act like he's some awesome rim protector. He's basically Kendrick Perkins.

This.
and that's coming from a Rockets fan that watched him start an entire regular and postseason for his team.

Pelicans should be looking to build a young team around Anthony Davis. Keep Reke and Davis and trade or let everyone else expire. This is signing screams mediocrity. Hopefully they can snag a free agent or two next off season.

Eh, borderline WC playoff team with that core of theirs.

Asik is ok but nothing worth that much, he has stone hands and is really ****in slow on the pick n roll D. He is basically shittier version of Mozgov, could anyone picture Cavs giving Mozgov 60 million?

Looking at the long big value contracts signed so far....
Absolutely see mozgov getting that much

Mozgov is actually somewhat skilled and is a decent athlete. 60 million sounds fine for him based on what Chandler got.
Asik is DeAndre Jordan without the athleticism. Seriously baffled by this signing

What is the point here?
Mozgov will make considerably more than this when he gets a new contract.

Only $44M guaranteed, so I guess last year is a team option. Contract should be readily movable, assuming he stays reasonably healthy. People don't realize how much better the Pellies played defensively with this guy on the floor. They weren't able to get anybody else, so why not pay the guy whose Bird Rights you have?
Also, just wait for what Mozgov gets next summer.
