These are the two teams with the most capspace in the league, also two of the biggest markets out there, what are they doing? All the good FAs are being snapped up,
I think for both teams they went in with the wrong game-plan, the second and third tier FAs should have been looked at (and most of the good ones are gone), what do you think both teams are going to do?
Monroe, DJ, Wes Matthews (I hear hes liked to Dallas)?

Knicks and Lakers are waiting for the 2016 FA market, I guess.
Matthews is being coveted hard right now by Dallas and Toronto.

I wanna talk more about the Knicks, I think the Lakers are fine because they have a nice young core and the Kobe money coming off next year gives them a launch pad,
But Phil is on the hot seat, Melos not going to wait......

Melo royally screwed himself...he had the opportunity to sign with the Bulls last season, and would of set himself up for a run at the title every year until his contract ended. Rose/Butler/Melo/Gasol/Noah...can you say stacked?
He also could of joined the Lakers last year and helped bring in Aldridge this year, would of made for a killer big 3. I'm kinda happy he didn't though, considering we wouldn't of been in the position to draft Russell.

So then he can retire because nobody else wants him at that salary, the Knicks might be in a better position without him anyways anyways.
Right now I feel like he's pretty toxic to top FA's, the star on a talentless team being a chucker that bitches a lot.
oh the horror

God that Bulls team would have been absolutely stupid to see. How could they not contend? He provides what they absolutely need and they can cover for his shit defense. Still can't believe he chose the Knicks. What an absolute wrong choice

Well the Knicks first mistake was drafting Andrea Bargnani instead of Mudiay. They have 38 million to spend and you'd at least think they'd be able to entice a Greg Monroe to sign. Seems like they forgot that you're actually supposed to build a team and not just clear capspace. Similar problem with the Lakers. This should shut up all the whiners that say big markets are always signing away the best players.

I'm not even a Bulls fan, but him choosing money over creating a team that could realistically be a legit threat is why I hope Melo spends the rest of his career missing the playoffs. It was such a perfect, logical fit for him. And when he's constantly saying shit like "I want to win," it makes him easily the most hateable piece of shit in the NBA, possibly in sports.

in b4 people in this thread realize how sick our cap space will be next year.
Imagine a lineup of
Center -Deandre Jordan
Power forward - Melo
Shooting forward -Durant
Shooting guard - Lebron
Point guard - Grant

Watch him request a trade. He's TRYING to say the right things because he knows he picked the money on a team that's obviously rebuilding but let them continue to be bottom of the east and we'll see what's up.

Sure, all Knick fans can imagine the above. But it will still remain as is, an imagination.

Damn I remember that. NY can't get from out of that dark cloud. Starbury and now Starmelo.

Most of the players that got signed today either
a. Already knew where they were going or
b. Got overpaid
I like what the knicks are doing, sit back wait for everyone to blow their load and make beastmode signings while nobody else can afford to do anything.
There is plenty of good stuff left, the more they wait the less they have to pay. They have to start with the biggest free agents to know what their plan is.

Nah NY is the right place, If Phil comes through Knicks can be better than the bulls, and without having to give 20m to Derrick Rose.
