For all the people who say "NY isnt a top destination" blah blah blah...
NY would get top free agents again, guys like Lebron, Durant, Davis would be begging for the Knicks to talk to them. Same goes for Brooklyn and owners with deep pockets and no shame.
Teams like Cleveland, Oklahoma, Golden State, Miami, San Antonio, Chicago, Houston, Toronto, New Orleans, etc... are EXTREMELY lucky there is a salary cap.

Chicago and Toronto are huge markets lol.
Sadly most those guys you mentioned would be lined up to play for the Lakers/Chicago.
Although i do see the Knicks being a lot better than they are currently.

True. One of the things I detest about being a Bulls. I am actually very pleasantly surprised that the Bulls offered Jimmy the most they could give him. I thought they would try to offer him something insulting that would seal "our" doom.

I think you need to revisit what constitutes a "market," places like Chicago, Toronto, Golden State, all have large populations and large corporate communities. The difference is ownership. The Bulls play in the third largest city in the USA, but their owner is cheap, so it wouldn't matter if there wasn't a cap on a team level, but market wise the potential is huge.

The Lakers would have 11 or 12 titles since 1980 instead of 10

A Knicks fan who doesn't know what he's talking about. Hard to believe.
Blazers would of won a championship at some point with Paul Allen's money, but once Allen is gone, they would have no chance.

NBA would be a lot more competitively balanced, like how MLB is.

Chicago and Toronto are huge markets. Houston is huge too. Miami is a coveted destination with no staet income tax
Golden States local market is San Fran AND Oakland
how dumb are knicks fans? (real real dumb)
Who actually wants to go play in NY? Fans are fickle bastards, the media will be up your ass 24/7, and it's cold as shit a lot of the year.

So the only consolation Knicks fans can find these days is in imagination?

If there was no cap, Lebron would be coaching and playing for the Knicks at 100 mil a year.
Lebron would have a whole all-star team and he still wouldn't have enough help.
