Because it puts himself in a position of power, that which he can control to an extent who the team signs... Everyone knows he is staying, this just allows him to ensure that everyone else gets signed up.

Because he's waiting to form another super-team of all-stars.

There are no shortcuts.

He's going back to Miami. He said the Heat was like college so it's time to go for his masters. :lol

But seriously, he's just making sure Danny makes the right moves and going to wait for all the pieces to be aligned.

He's trying to get Wade to hop on board so he can get Gilbert to dish out a max for him also. 2 all stars and he couldn't get a winning record in the finals. Guess he realizes he needs 3 or 4?:confusedshrug:

Isn't that what you're doing/looking for, by making this thread?

If Lebron truly is waiting to see if the FO does "enough"... will he consider bringing back the exact same team at exorbitant prices "enough"?

I say there's a .00001% chance of Lebron leaving... but after that ridiculous offer thrown Love's way, and then Thompson? Two huge offers to two men that play the same position, and you know Moz is gonna play... is that really an improvement?

If I'm Lebron, I'm a little ticked. It's easy to sit back and say that if the Cavs were healthy, they would have won the finals (it's debatable as to whether or not they actually would have, but I'm talking from Lebron's perspective). But we all know Love was not a great fit. His skillset is, but his lack of mobility and apparent (though perception could be way wrong) lack of ability to fit in and put his ego aside made it an experiment. One that, I believe, didn't end well (or poorly for that matter, admittedly).

I think the better/best Cleveland moves (if they had the money) would have been to trade a middling piece for Channing Frye (I'm assuming Magic are willing to salary dump him since they offered Millsap 20m per) and then sign Afflalo for a deal similar to that of the Knicks.

Kyrie/Delly?
Afflalo/Shump
Lebron/Shump
Frye(for spacing)/Tristan
Moz/Tristan

Perhaps a S&T could have been completed with Love, to at least gain some other assets, and to open up a host of other potential landing spots that may have intrigued him.

But what's done is done... and if I'm Lebron, I'm not sure it's good enough to remain constant.

we are over the cap even before signing love, so we couldnt have gotten afflalo

plus frye is a bum. hes washed up

love is on another level as a player, and much younger.

lebron clearly asked the front office to trade for love, and his agency represents tristan. they are his guys, bringing them back is exactly what bron wanted.

Afflalo/Shump
Affalo's already signed with NYK today.

Nice job skim reading.

As for the "over the cap", I assumed so based on the ridiculous money tossed to Shump and Tristan, but didn't know that.

Frye, though, is on a very friendly deal and would be a great fit in the Lebroffense. Love is not a great fit. But hey, if that's what makes Lebron happy I guess that's what you do.

Not saying it can't/won't work. They made the finals in the first year, with a new coach, for crying out loud. That's huge. Just that love seems like an overpriced, overtalented necessity. Akin to hiring a kid that graduated with a culinary degree to toss pizzas or flip burgers. Great fit in terms of skillset, but went "too far".
