I don't see where he fits. Our front court needs a back up center if Birdman is gone, but in terms of PF, I like Bosh and McRoberts.

If he signed with the heat they would make the NBA Finals. I wonder if they'd do a sign and trade for Bosh.

Either Bosh is a goner (which there has been no indication of) or Bosh/Whiteside starts at center and then the other comes off the bench. No way LMA comes here to play on the bench.

I think Miami is a little late to the party and they don't have a shot unless they can dump some salary and maybe talk Portland into a S&T with Aldridge for Bosh.

07-02-2015, 04:16 PM
Bosh would have to be gone but don't know who would want him and his contract to help Miami out. Doubt Lakers would do or Phil over in NY unless he feels like a Melo/Bosh duo can work.

I feel confident Wade will be back and it's just a matter of what the plan is. Micky went to Italy, Riley went to LA, and Wade went to the Bahamas.

The most logical thing is Miami is looking to do a sign and trade for LMA with Bosh, but why? I can't see it because Miami sold the idea of Heat lifer to Bosh.

More importantly, why would Portland want Bosh at his salary and with the blood clots issue that he went through.

Sign and trade Aldridge for Bosh? Bosh to PHX for capspace while the Heat sign Aldridge straight up?

3 team with PHX and Blazers to get Bosh to the desert, Keef/Birdman/Rio to Portland, Aldridge/possible filler to Miami?

This is a possibility for sure, I just don't know if Phoenix is fine with taking Bosh instead of Aldridge (I would be...especially being paired with Chandler/Bled/Knight).

Bosh is a better fit next to Whiteside because he's a better midrange/3 point shooter. LMA is a better rebounder and post player, but Miami doesn't need that. They need spacing. Riley is just putting his name in there lol.

Sources: LaMarcus Aldridge instigated meeting with Miami, which is why Pat Riley is flying to Los Angeles to meet him.

Mike Ortiz Jr. ‏@xOrtiz4x
Though it's not a done deal just yet. Aldridge still wants to hear Miami out. A lot could change if meeting doesn't goes as planned.

Cont. Word is that's where Aldridge wants to play at as he saw what Miami management did with big 3 to make them title winners/contenders.

interesting stuff...

So the Spurs definitely didn't wow LMA like it was first reported.. LMA reaching out to the Heat for a meeting, second meeting with the Lakers tells me he's not even close to a decision

BasedTom
07-02-2015, 05:25 PM
I agree that it's redundant/weird thinking about how it would work, but if Lamarcus is the one who sought out the meeting with Riley, then that's quite encouraging isn't it?

Instead of a situation like LA or the Knicks where they have to sell themselves, Aldridge already has some confidence in the Heat's direction.

interesting, if strange news...

I guess technically they can afford him right now with Wades contract in limbo and likely moving Whiteside, Bird, Deng and Rio.

I'm really not feeding into this as signing him will be pretty redundant, but imagine if Rile s sways him...and gets him to take a discounted contract. Crazy!

That's removing a bunch of role players not helping with the Heats depth and even then one of them is coming off the bench or Whiteside will.

Miami will offload the expirers of Bird, Rio, Deng and throw in McBob, and maybe a pick to keep the Blazers happy

Doubt Riley lets Whiteside and Winslow go...he's pretty big on both

Doubt Riley lets Whiteside and Winslow go...he's pretty big on bothYou owe 3 future first rounders to the 76ers & Suns. You literally can't trade away a pick until the 2020s. I'm just saying if I'm Olshey I want Winslow in a S&T and will gladly take on other unwanted players. Then Blazers can sign Whiteside next year with all their cap space.

Btw, since Whiteside is on a 2-year deal, does he have to be signed with cap space or does MIA have any Early Bird rights for him? Wondering if it's a similar situation with Carroll/Millsap in ATL.

That's fine as well.

Heat would give up Winslow if it meant LMA.

The point is....the Blazers would be stupid to say no deal for sure if LMA is leaving regardless.

In fact, if I can't keep LMA, this is the deal I'm hoping for. I'd let LMA know if he wants South Beach and I get Winslow, I'll accommodate.

Bob is just a good player on a good deal. Can flip him or keep him...depends on what they'd do.

Napier is a nice asset on a rookie contract.

Winslow or Whiteside have huge potential and would be a steal to get if you were losing LMA regardless.

The funny thing is...the Blazers would rather take Winslow and the Heat might rather give up Winslow.

Whiteside just makes that Heat team way better than Winslow does from the jump. They'd be all in for the title by landing LMA...and Whiteside is the perfect player to have with those two bigs on the roster.

Winslow isn't as valuable for that team imo.

Winslow isn't as valuable for that team imo.Completely agree. From Portland's side, why not take the guys on the rookie contract anyway? I don't know if Miami will face the same situation ATL did with Carroll/Millsap on their 2-year deals, but either way, just target Whiteside next offseason. A big rotation of LMA/Bosh/Whiteside is really sick and flexible on paper anyway. Big-time move for a title push imo.
