???? I was getting swept up in these LMA sweepstakes and I didn't even realize how overrated this soft as turn around fade-away shooting "bigman" was. Jesus LMA couldn't even do sh!t with Lillard, he couldn't protect the paint either. Now teams like the Knicks, Heat, Spurs, and Lakers are fighting over this 30yr old overrated soft a$$ non winnin a$$ player??? :biggums:

I honestly hope Lakers pass on this clown...

2014 playoffs he had a couple of 40 point games vs defensive big man Dwight Howard...and I felt like this year, the whole squad lost momentum right when Wes went down with an injury. Aldridge is definitely a good player, solid 1st option ATM. Will be a great 2nd option when 2016 rolls around :D

No Sh!t eh?

And for anyone clowning on Kobe failing at the meeting with LMA, you really want a ***** on your team that needs constant reassurance? They had that in Dwight and if Kobe plays with another ***** like him, he would rip them to shreds.

Kinda what I was thinking. If teams are losing their shit for Aldridge, then it's going to be f***ing batshit crazy this coming season and especially next June and July if/when Durant is on the market.

He'd be a great get for as a second option on a legit contender (something the Blazers never were), but if fringe contenders or bottom half playoff teams (5-8 seed type teams) are expecting him to put them over the top as their go-to man, then no.

As a Thunder fan, the only scenario (that seems likely anyway) that really scares/worries me is if Aldridge ends up in San Antonio.

Nobody is losing their mind over him like some of the better guys in recent years. Just wait for next year and you'll see craziness.

Having a damn near 50 and 20 game on the road against Houston not impressive enough. That "soft" player shit on Dwight and Asik. He also carried Portland to the playoffs with a an injured hand.

Lakers fans are like a teenage girls after the guy they wanted picks some other chick: "I-I didn't like that faqqot anyway. We're gonna jump her ass after school because I don't care!"

He's good, but I dont' think anyone rates him like a KD or Lebron or tier 1 player...

A lot of this is fit/role...and appeasing the fans.

It makes a ton of sense for teams like the Suns and Spurs now....for other teams that aren't good right now? It's about appeasing fans and just doing something.

But I don't think anyone legit thinks he's a tier 1 or even tier 2 player (depending on how you define those tiers)

It's also about having a piece to attract other FAs next year possibly. Lakers for example have a better chance at attracting someone like Durant if they have Aldridge in place and the 3 rookies have promising seasons. He's not gonna have some huge impact on his own though.

those 40pt games were against Terrence Jones
when Dwight and Asik got put on him the next 4 games his scoring and efficiency plummeted.............look what Splitter did to him in round 2

With Kobe being mortal again and having injury issues aswell as being old, LMA would be asked to be the First option, and imo dude would flop. He's just not a winning type player to me honestly.

I don't know where I'd rank LMA to be honest.

His scoring efficiency has been kind of shit for like the last 3 years now.

Like I said...it depends on how you define the tiers, but I don't think LMA is on the impact level of Curry/Harden/WB/Paul....and I don't think those guys are on the Lebron level....so you could see how it gets tricky.

I guess my tier one is broad. Dudes who would win a FMVP. You want to call tier one only guys who can lead you to the finals single handedly? 3 maybe 4 if Davis is insane this year

If we're talking about players who can single-handily or almost single-handily lead you to the Finals...I think that group consists of just LeBron and a healthy Durant. I think you plug either of those guys in a number of situations and, given the right support and a few breaks, they're going to get your team to the Finals unless they're in the same conference. And of course being in the Eastern Conference and having the other in the Western Conference helps a ton, too.

I think the next group that can do that with just a little more help and a few more breaks consists of Westbrook, Paul, Davis, Curry, and Harden. Anyone other than those 5 on the second tier, I'm just not sure.

Yea, it gets complicated.

I'm just saying there are like a legit amount of players I don't even have to think about before I take them over LMA.

If they are all tier 1...so be it, but that doesn't leave much room for differences.

Like Lebron is clearly the best player in the world imo.

Durant had a strong case a year ago in the regular season, but his playoffs and then last year...not on that level anymore. Well, he could be, but he has to prove it again.

And it's not only that...I'm legit trying to question how good LMA actually is. Like I said, he's not a great defender and his scoring efficiency leaves a lot to be desired.

I think it's absolutely fair to question his true impact and whether or not it's on the Curry/WB/Harden level....or the Melo type level.

Oh I mean hes like barely tier two, dudes hanging on by the finger tips (hand issue jokes) I still give it to him though. I got ten dudes over him easy but still. He's a guy you get real, real excited about signing. If Greg Monroe can get a ****ing max give this man some money.

Okay, but getting real excited about a guy doesn't make him a tier 2 player.

Like I said...this just depends on who is ranking players and how they define their tiers.

If outside of the top 10 is still tier 2 for you...great...I'm not arguing with you on that.

I think my point stands though...it's debatable depending on how you define the tiers. Do you agree?

Could be...but I do think there are real questions about a supposed franchise player that shot 48.7% TS over the last 3 years in the playoffs and 52.1% TS in the regular season over the last 3 years.

People, for some reason, ignore how inefficient he's been.

And don't get me wrong...he's really good...he's a great player....but there are legit reasons to question.

The Lakers desperately need a star like him to advance the rebuild.

I don't think Lakers are expecting him to carry the team to championship level or even take the team to playoff. They want him because they can use him as precursor for next year free agency.

Best offensive big in the game imo...he can post you up turnaround and shoot off both shoulders, get you in the air with the up and under LMA is very skilled for a 6'11 guy...Blazers fans know what I'm talking about and he steps up in big games.

Would be a great second option on a good team even tho he's 30.

Also he doesn't look like the type of guy that walks around the locker room with a stat sheet in his hands complaining about touches like Dwight did.
