Do the men/women ever face off? Like is there ever Serena vs. Nadal? It seems like tennis is one of the sports where both genders can be equally skilled, but maybe i'm wrong?

Yeah. Strength, stamina, explosiveness, body control, etc. Tennis requires a higher level of skill refinement than a lot of other sports, but athletically it's still a really demanding sport at the pro level. And there's just a clear discrepancy between the male and female side on that. Some of the athletes on the men's side are just ridiculous, and not just for tennis but by general sports standards as well. 2008 Nadal was just a freak of nature...lightning quick, otherworldly stamina, crazy body control/agility, and built like a tank for a tennis player. Dude routinely played 4-5 hour matches in scorching heat, chasing down every ball hitting 4,000+ rpm shots..where he would look just as good in hour 5 as he did at the start of the match. Djokovic at his best is a freak athlete as well, not as big or strong as Nadal but the guy is seemingly made out of rubber, one of the most uniquely gifted athletes ever.
