View Full Version : Will KD leave next season?

I say hell no and here's why:
1. Kevin is loyal but is also about winning. He's not just gonna move away from all his friends in OK and go off to another city and start all over UNLESS OKC was lacking in talent, which they aren't... and plus he has it made here. He gets treated like a ****ing King wherever he goes.
2. OKC has the most stacked coaching staff in the league now... Billy Donovan/Monty Williams/Maurice Cheeks.
Not only will OKC have a ton of talent, but they also have two loyal no nonsense guys who are all about winning.
There will be no drama in OKC. Both KD and Westbrook will sign to stay in OKC. Why would they leave something they built from the ground up? They're not ****ing idiots.
So now for the ring predictions...
I say a minimum of 5.
Not only does OKC have the best coaches and players, but they also have the best GM, Sem Presti.
OKC = STACKED.

Cavs/OKC from here on out... was supposed to be already in 2015, but the injuries in both teams delayed it by a year.

It was supposed to be Miami and OKC from 2012 onwards. Sport is fickle. These predictions are useless.

These lame hypotheticals need to stop. He's not going to Washington, not LA, not NY, Not Miami...
He's staying put in the best city on earth, Oklahoma City.....

IF Spurs get Aldridge, they surely can't be discounted. Neither can the reigning champs. There are at least 4 legit contenders.

true.. but Durant? Surely this should be Durant's time.. making himself a top 20 all time legacy, with a stacked team like the others like the other contenders, a top 5-10 player in Russ, another all-star guy in Ibaka... KD should make the difference from here on out.

All about health my friend.
Its unpredictable. But when healthy OKC is clearly the best team in the league, and with coaches like that there's no ceiling for this team.
BECAUSE THE SKY IS THE LIMIT.
How many rings? 5?

He won't leave.
1. Okc only had two weaknesses/liabilities...they were Scott Brooks and K-Perks....we've gotten rid of both..
2. We finally have a low post scoring threat and an offensive rebounder in Kanter....and drafted Payne who'd be a good long term backup for Russ.

I do think it's title or bust for them next year, and if they don't get it done next year I wouldn't be surprised, shocked or none of that if he leaves (I think he'll go to Washington, they seem to be preparing themselves for Kevin).
Isn't Westbrook a FA after next year too? To me he seems to be even more of the type to leave an OKC of the 2 guys.

I think there's a lot riding on this season. Thunder need to at least make the WCF's, or I think Durant will seriously explore other options.

One thing about Russell though he is all about winning. And him and KD are practically brothers at this point.
So when KD signs next year, it would be next to impossible for Westbrook not to re-sign.
That's the reality.

Notice how the usual trolls won't make any definitive predictions either way. Because they know this thread will be bumped.
They have no problem saying he will leave in other threads they know will be forgotten, though.

Whenever I see someone hyping Durant to the Knicks or Lakers, I just laugh. No way he leaves a team constructed to win for the next few years for arebuilding situation.l

No, but Russ might come east to the Knicks. He could become a fashion superstar here. Imagine if he leads the Knicks to the promised land, he would be King of NY. There is no bigger mountain, than doing it in NYC for a fanbase starving for success.
Wishful thinking :(

Sorry bro he's not coming to NY. It would be cool to see him run the town of NYC though. He'd be the biggest star since Derek Jeter.

He could also just retire from the sport. That would probably be a slower way of killing his career.

I don't see him leaving unless they have a really bad season, which probably won't happen unless there are injuries.

I don't see him leaving OKC. He and LeBron are the most loyal, team-first players in the association. I wish Kobe were like these guys.

Then Westbrook will have his legendary 36-36-36 season.

I see what ya did there.
On a serious note, I would be pretty surprised if he leaves next year. It seems like the best situation for him to be in by far. The only other team I could possibly imagine him maybe, maybe going to is Miami.
As far as the 5 titles goes, it all depends on health and how the new coach pans out. He was a stellar college coach, and hopefully he can transition to the NBA gracefully, but there are no guarantees (he has to be better than Brooks though, right?). Hopefully KD is his old self coming back next season, and hopefully they stay healthy. If the new coach pans out, and everyone stays together and healthy, I don't see why they shouldn't be winning one in the near future.

It really depends a lot on Donovan. If he doesn't click and if they don't at LEAST make the WCF and have a very competitive series there, I think there's a good chance he leaves.

Just like he left OKC, he will leave the Warriors to the Spurs next season once he gets his assed handed to him by them.
KD will hop from one team to the other, every team that beats him he will sign for them as Thank You for kicking his ass.
