This is some Floyd Mayweather ish right here

How did they basically dodge the top 4 teams in the league??

Has that ever happened before? A team winning a championship without facing any of the top 4 teams in the league (healthy)?

He dodged a prime Pacquiao, Mosley was old, and he basically forced 135lb fighters to face him

I really think this GS team is very overrated. I love their style of play and I love their players, but people talk about them as a historical team. Not at all IMO.

I think the league was weak this previous season. Now, I think we are currently in a GOLDEN AGE in the NBA. Dont get me wrong- there is so much talent in the NBA right now. But last year the Tetris blocks just fell in the wrong places. Weird injuries, a lot of terrible teams at the bottom of the standings. Spurs running out of gas, the Clippers having no heart.

To me GS is very guardable. There is nobody on that roster that requires a double team. Steph can be guarded by a quick defender who tenaciously stays with him, and I still dont like his game of bombing bad 3s all the time. Against a better opponent, I think he gets shut down along with much of their offense. Iggy? Cant shoot. Klay is not a very dynamic player, put a decent, equally sized defender on him and let him score 15-20. Is he really going to kill you 4 times out of 7? Bogut, not enough of a threat. Just, bland players.

I think if Conley wasn't so banged up GS wouldn't have made it past Memphis.

Obviously the Cavs injury situation helped them in the finals as well.

GS had a full healthy roster and got pretty lucky.

Anyone in the Warriors organization will tell you they were lucky. However, luck always plays a part in winning a championship. They're the champs. End of story. Give credit where credit is due.

With that said, I still don't think they will be able to defend their title.

because the Clippers beat the Spurs and the Clippers then had the biggest choke job probably in the history of sports against the Rockets.

It's not Curry's fault that Durant has leg problems and Kyrie has always been injury prone.

Without question, they are overrated. Like you said, they dodged the teams that people thought would knock them off. We were missing 3 of our top 7 rotation players, including our #2 and #3 scorers and we still managed to beat them twice, almost three times if it wasn't for game 1. I still think they are a great team. Curry is one of the best shooters I have ever seen play. He is up there with Reggie and Ray Ray in my eyes.

Just wondering, how many of these were with Shaq?
Does it include 1996-98 when Kobe was a bench warmer?

But the people don't talk about that. How did we dodge the Clippers and Spurs when they weren't good enough to play us in the WCF? Instead we scraped the team that beat and passed those teams to get there.

We definitely got some luck. Most notably with injuries, both in the regular season and playoffs... but it is what it is. I can go back in history and point out of dozens of champions who had easy runs to the Finals, and/or benefited from injuries.

As for where this team stands among the all-time great teams? I agree, their stats and record will probably overrate them. I do think they are a top 20 team all-time, and that their particular style of play would cause problems for some of the all-time great teams.

I don't think that GSW and Lebron's Heat could defend against all-time teams with dominant big men (meaning not MJ's Bulls). They just don't have the big man defenders - can you imagine Bogut? Bosh? Haslem? going up against Shaq? Hakeem? KAJ? I guess it depends on whether one thinks Draymond's 3s are enough to counter these dominant big men in the post.

I actually like how we match up with the Center oriented teams, especially if we're playing under modern NBA rules. For example, the '01 Lakers. Shaq is gonna get his, but Bogut is no slouch, and Shaq may struggle with foul trouble (charges). Warriors have plenty of perimeter defenders (Klay/Iggy/Barnes/Livingston) to throw at young Kobe. Beyond that, I think the Warriors have both the talent and play-style to beat the '01 Lakers in a 7 game series, even if Shaq averages ~40/15.

Fought an old DLH, Mosley, Cotto. Fought Zab after he was already KOd and then beaten by Baldomir. Canelo was weight drained. Marquez was a career featherweight who had to fight at 147. Manny had already been past his best days. Hernandez fought Floyd in his last fight. Hatton had to move up to 147 where he sucked. So that leaves, Diego Corrales considering Castillo beat Floyd in the first fight. Stick to basketball.
