My LA Laker fan friend are all gaga over this big three of Kobe, Russell and Randle, now for the sake of argument I will concede that Russell will be good and maybe even ROY considering what Clarkson did last year in a similar role, but Randle...Didn't he get progressively more irrelevant from the first game of his college career?

Can we still talk about this guy as an all star, especially when we consider how pedestrian everyone outside of Wiggins was in last year's 'great' draft...

Do I need to be educated on Randle?

He was intriguing last year in Summer League. When he got injured, he studied tape all season, lost about 20 pounds, got lean, and worked on his jump shot. Mitch has recently expressed pride in Julius, comparing him to Lamar Odom.

He will be in Summer League again this year. We will have to wait and see. All indications from Mitch are that he has put in hard work, and will be a focal point of this team going forward.

Anyone who includes Kobe's slowly moldering corpse as a significant part of any future Lakers' success, let alone a Big 3, is a severely deluded individual.

Undersized PF and a defensive liability. Can't over power forwards at the NBA level like he did in college.

Pretty much this last time we saw him. He's had a year of work though so maybe he'll have improved.lakers fans been overrating him

You're seriously comparing Randle to Barkley...GTFO!
Randle's max is a 2nd tier PF in the league..that's with lots of work and improvement.

I watched him play live at Summer league last year. Physically, he definitely has the tools to compete at the NBA level. I think people will be surprised by his physical abilities. Mentally, he looked like he had a lot to work on. There were quite a few plays where he was trying to do too much. He even got benched one game for trying to go 1 on 5 after a made basket.
