What's the deal? I don't get this move since they have Randle and Black at PF already..Hopefully it's just for the vet minimum. Lakers been making lots of moves over the past two days

Its nice to know they had back up plans this time around but no idea regarding the contract.

Its a good move. We went from having Sacre as our starting center to acquiring Hibbert and Bass. Not bad at all.

Great signing. Very good locker room presence if anything.

The Lakers though? I didn't really want him back with Boston and taking some of Sully and Olynyk's minute, but going to LA of all places? I think you guys will like him.

I hope Randle still starts at PF though. Bass signing could hinder his development and playing time..

So far
Russell - Clarkson
Kobe - Lou
Nick? - Brown
Randle - Bass - Nance
Hibbert - Black - Maybe Upshaw

We still need a starting SF. Lin sign and trade for Snell would be good.

That's what I'd do if I were the Lakers. Bass is a good backup PF, but nothing more. He's good to have as a mentor for their younger guys, and has a wet mid-range shot along with some serious explosiveness in the paint, so he could provide some scoring off the bench.

I remember a couple years ago, he was trusted to lock down LeBron in the Playoffs, and he did pretty well. Good all-around player, but definitely shouldn't get in the way of Randle's development.

Bass should be on a contender, but his grit and his hustle should be both beneficial to the Lakers and to Randles development. Bass is ready to take a starter's position and that alone should be motivation.

Find a way to get a 3&D SF and that's not a bad team.

If Kobe stays healthy that would be a playoff team in the East. Too bad they are in the West.

Agreed. It's good for the Lakers, but Bass could be more beneficial to a contender. As long as they're not stupid enough to start him over Randle, it's a good signing on their part, but probably not the best for Bass.

That's a great pickup.

Lakers having a quiet offseason, but that doesn't mean it's a bad offseason.

Randle isn't a proven starter if they are trying to make the play offs

It's about fkn time we had a back up plan, no more superstar or bust approach. We need guys like this to build a decent roster and develop the young guys..

Good work Mitch

I hope they bring back Jordan Hill as another vet too. His energy and effort can be contagious for the young team. Still need more depth at the SF position though. A 3 & D guy to start would be perfect but not sure who's still available.

Lin's going to Dallas bro. Plus Bulls already have Gibson, Hill would not see much PT there. I would prefer to keep Hill. Every SF that's still available out there is so bad, Kobe will have to probably start at the 3.

lakers have done pretty well considering they could not get a star. They will be armed and will give it another shot next year and one of the few teams that can offer 3 max contracts. they can still right the ship 2-3 years down the road

Brandon Bass is serviceable off the bench. He's a nice gritty role player that won't complain about his role and plays hard. About time lakers get more dudes like that.

All Kobetards expect the Fakers to sign Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis and Dame Lillard.

I like this signing. But in my opinion, the success is contingent upon the offensive system. Williams, Hibbert and Bass will all play defense if nothing else.

Still not good enough to do anything meaningful with the organization.

Would have preferred a SF. Lakers have a decent team if they could just find a decent (defensive minded) SF.

PG: Russell / Williams
SG: Kobe / Clarkson
SF: ......... / Ellington
PF: Randle/ Bass / Black
C: Hibbert / Upshaw

Dorell Wright?

Great mid range shooter, finishes like a tank in the paint. Good hustle good attitude. Just undersized.

Good pickup, will be sorry to see him leave Boston...although I wish he was going somewhere he could contend this season. Defends well, has a nice midrange jumper and jumps out of the damn building sometimes going for rebounds. Hopefully provides solid veteran presence on a young team in LA just like he did for us here in Boston after KG and Paul were moved.

Good luck BB :applause: :applause:

I fully expect to sign both Anthony Davis and Kevin Durant.
We have no use for Lillard. We have D'Alpha now and Louis King The 1st.

Randle
Durant

even picking up players who will play major minutes that shouldn't be getting starter minutes, due to the Lakers 'super star' culture

they still manage to find someone that would perhaps fit the Lakers agenda

but more importantly..

sell some jerseys all while paying that mediocore salary
