Teams are so bad in the east you never know who's gonna go on a little run and make the playoffs but this is what I'm thinking in no particular order

Cavs
Bulls
Hawks
Heat
Raptors
Bucks
Wizards
Pacers

Teams like Boston and Brooklyn didn't make any big additions this offseason but they can still creep in there.

Miami didn't make any big signings but they got a steal in Winslow and Dragic/Wade re-signed, Bosh is healthy I'd be surprised if they missed the playoffs.

Indiana needs to get another productive big man but I think they are all set on the perimeter.

I dont think teams like Orlando, New York, Philadelphia, Charlotte and Detroit got that much better but you never know in the east as long as your not the sixers you have a shot at the 8th seed lol.

Heat can be seeded anywhere from 8 to 2 depending on Wade's health and Spo's Coaching.
Even with the injuries last year, heat had better players than pacers and pacers still won more games. Wade played more games than he did in 2013-14 season. Celtics made the playoffs with so many trades and very young team.

Spo's Coaching has been pretty bad since 2013 at least. Last year's Heat team should have made the playoffs in the east. Riley should fire Spo this year if heat don't make top 3 seed in the east. the only team they should lose to is the cavs.

Here we go hyping the Heat like we did last year as a top 4 team in the East :lol

That's where your boy got 2 rings... don't even have the respect to thank the franchise for that. :facepalm :facepalm

That East is a joke. Going to be Cavs again in the Finals barring Lebron finally cracking with an injury.

They are all pretenders except for the one that will make the Finals (since that's how it works, right ?), so who cares...

Well, the Bobcats definitely have no chance.

On that note, the Charlotte Hornets and Detroit seem to be getting no respect from most people. Both should be improved and in the playoff hunt.

Detroit was supposed to be everyone's sleeper team during the Josh Smith era but that flopped.

They were also supposed to improve dramatically with waiving him but that flop.

Then this team just replaced Greg Monroe with Ersan Ilyasova and people are expecting a playoff berth, this team just isn't clicking.

Healthy Cavs will be top, no avoiding it.

Seven teams look like locks to make it:

Cleveland
Chicago
Miami
Toronto
Atlanta
Washington
Milwaukee

That leaves Boston, Brooklyn and Indiana to fight for the last spot.

Celtics were the 2nd best team in the East last year after the Isaiah Thomas trade. Other teams have got better and I'm not saying they're the 2nd best team in the East, but it's pretty ludicrous that not a single one of you have them even making it.

Heat might be the 2nd best team in east this year..cavs will be #1 followed by Bulls, heat, Hawks wizards.. Those are your top 5 seeds the Bucks Pacers and celtics all fighting for 7-8 seeds

Miami is the fourth oldest team in the league.

They aren't going to be that great.

Yeah, unfortunately I have to agree. I think the Pistons improved their depth, maybe slightly improved the starting Forward positions overall, at least in terms of how the pieces fit together but I don't see them making the Playoffs. I could see them possibly making a push for the 8th Seed if the chemistry is good but I just don't see us making the Playoffs.

They made some solid cheap additions but they are still lacking in talent top to bottom.

Because Jordan win 6 championships many many years ago. For some reason that makes their current team more hyped.

I'm not questioning the historicity of the franchise, I'm just referring to these past couple seasons. Furthermore, I compared them to the Clippers not because they are the same historically (The Bulls are way better obviously), but because of how during these last few seasons the Clippers are always hyped up and said to go to the Finals and WCF

The Cavs should win the east this year if they stay healthy. The Hawks could fall further... They mostly escaped injury until the end of the season last year and they were far worse in the 2nd half of the season than the first. Their wings are basically all backups this year... And we know Splitter will miss 20-30 games because he does so every year. They will regress this year.

The Bulls should get 2nd seed if they stay reasonably healthy. I suspect they will do that. The rest is tough because most every team will be in the playoff race this year. There might be only one or two teams that end up with no shot to make the playoffs in the east.... Boston played much better in the 2nd half, and The Wizards haven't improved their team and that front line is getting older and older. The only way they get a top 4 spot in the east is if someone like Otto Porter explodes.

The Bucks will better with Monroe... They might even jump to number 3 seed and ahead of the Hawks. I think the Heat will get 8th seed due to Whiteside. He will make the all star team this year.

I just don't know what's wrong with the Pistons. They have had some good players on their roster since their last Conference Finals appearance, but just haven't been able to get over the hump.

I'm missing the Palace in the playoffs and I'm missing the Palace being packed with fans. I do think Stanley Johnson is a step in the right direction, as was Andre Drummond, and acquiring Reggie Jackson. Now Stan Van Gundy needs to prove himself as a GM that he can turn this team around by flipping assets and surrounding this team with unselfish but effective role players and hope to recreate the mid 2000s Detriot Pistons where they grind wins.

The Bulls are supposed to be the team that can beat Lebron, but haven't been able to stop him. They have Jimmy Butler and Joakim Noah, that's a good start for an elite defense, but their offense isn't stable without guys that can knockdown three pointers. Either Derrick Rose or Jimmy Butler is gonna have to start becoming knockdown shooters because the offense of those two players are predictable and containable.
