TBH, I see value with Spurs at 6/1.
As it stands, I don't see a winner outside of Cavs or spurs. they deservedly are clear favourites.
Chuck a small cover bet on Bucks at 51/1
Spurs FTW.
Would appreciate if someone can post up an odds table?

Injuries happen every season.
Indeed.
What happened to the Cavs was pretty rare though.
Spurs could cope with 1 or 2 in the front court. Back court on the other hand...

You could take Cleveland then hedge against them in the finals.
Or you could take a handful of Eastern teams, including Cleveland to be safe, then hope Cleveland has something flukey happen, then hedge big against whoever it is in the finals.
The way the odds are laid out, someone from the East, and probably a few teams, are going to have substantially better odds by Christmas, and you'dve bought really low today.

I know Spurs will be rolling all year, probably from the get go and build a strong regular season record, so I'm not too worried about them blowing out, because I strongly doubt they will go out from their current quote.
I am taking Cleveland on. Never won a championship and 2 of their major players are injury prone. Lebron is another year older and his task to get through the East has now suddenly got more difficult.
Teams like Detroit, Miami, and Bucks will all be better. Bucks being a real darkhorse to make the ECF, you had to watch how they played against the bulls during the playoffs to know how good they can be with Monroe and Parker in the rotation.
Most are overlooking the fact that the East challengers look to either be getting better OR remain pretty much the same. I strongly doubt the Cavs playoff path will be easy.
As for the Spurs, the key for them is to make the finals. I think they will take care of Cavs IF they make it there. GSW and OKC stand in their way, however I think the addition of West and Aldridge is huge. Players who can score at will and take the scoring burden off their vets. I also think the main guys will get plenty of rest for the playoffs.
I'm pretty confident on Spurs barring injury, with a speculative bet on the Bucks at 51/1.

The way they write betting odds in America is stupid.... why not just go from 1.0 up (decimal odds)? Dumb continent.
Okay but anyway, disappointed to see the Spurs not having the highest.. will definitely put some against them.

On topbet.eu the Pacers were +1800 to win the EC.
I think that's worth $100 given their acquisition of Monta.
I'm feeling froggy.

Not bad.
If you consider throwing 100 away as chump change sure?
I don't know how the Pacers will overcome the loss of the front court while cmpeting with big frontcourts like Bulls and also matching the talent of Miami, Cavs, Bucks, Wizards etc.
I don't know, I just think you have too many IFs to win that bet.

Why bet against who you think will probably win? :lol
Unless of course you're loading up on the Cavs, then that's not silly.

I don't think they will win.. just wanted the quotes to be better for when I go against them.. I will put alot against them, and maybe a bit on the Rockets? Clippers? Cavs or OKC have the 2 best chances for me, actually.
Not bad.

The Pelicans and Grizzlies also had a large front court. In fact, out of every team in the WC playoffs, the Warriors were probably the smallest team 1-8.
$1800 isn't worth the gamble to you? I think Cleveland, the Bulls, and the Hawks are the only legitimate contenders in the East. Throw in the Pacers and I see it as kind of a 1/4 chance type thing (although not so simple).
I can put $100 on the Pacers to win the ECF, or $100 on the Texans over 8.5 wins. One pays out $200. One pays out $1800. One is more likely, but I was never a safe bet kinda guy.

The Kings are probably paying 200/1 and if I throw 100 on them, I'm likely to get back 20,000. Is that bet worth the gamble to me?
No way. Comes down to how likely the bet is.
4 teams look built to win it all. Outside of those 4 teams, you are relying on injury luck or trades or to get red hot for a whole playoffs like the Mavs did in 2011.
FYI, even if Cavs only had Lebron, I'd still pick them to beat Indiana in the ECF. It's not even close.

Yeah Cavs/OKC look the only legit threats at this stage, I don't see Warriors repeating after they kind of struggled past a severely hobbled Cavs team in the finals.

yeah.. betting 100$ on Pacers is basically 100$ thrown away.. cmon now.

You really give this Pacers team zero chance to win the EC?
Damn. No love for Indy this season.

I really like The Bucks as a darkhorse too. I kind of like Washington too. And I'd be tempted to throw The Bulls in there too, hoping Rose keeps coming around after finally going through a full season.
All of them are 16/1 or better. You could throw Atlanta in there, but I'm not crazy about the switch from Carroll to Splitter, who may make them more conventional.
Anyway, 100 on each of the three means if they make the conference final and are playing against Cleveland you can hedge against it by taking Cleveland in the series, which almost certainly wouldn't be that huge of a favorite at that point.
And if they beat Cleveland, you'd still have enough profit in all of them to bet against them again in the finals.
Then you can hedge against the hedge if things go to game sevens.
It's just that there's a shit ton of money hanging out in the east if someone can side swipe the Cavs.
