Sources say San Antonio has agreed to a trade a future second-round pick to Sacramento for Ray McCallum to replace Cory Joseph. Seems like a good replacement. Young guard with starting experience.

Oh nice. I was just talking about the need for wing help in the Kyle Anderson thread. I think McCallum can fit nicely into the Spurs system. :applause:

If Matt Barnes and Shannon Brown fused, you'd get this lighty.

I've never watched many Detroit University games but people here in Michigan rave about this guy and I remember a few Draft "Experts" liking him alot too. Based on that and the fact that it's the Spurs acquiring him, I expect he'll solidify their backup PG spot next season and prove to be a solid young player.

Started 10 games his rookie year and the last 30 last year. Looks about 12/5/4 45/35/68 player with 25 mpg+.

All I know is he was a big recruit in high school and chose to play for his father in the Horizon league. Pretty athletic. He was impressive in the McDonalds dunk contest.

Especially if it's a Spurs 2nd. Probably will be 58-60th pick.

I recall this guy having a good stretch last year.

He plays hard out there. May be it is because he knows he won't get a ton of playing time, but his energy level is always high.

Good pick up for the Spurs for virtually nothing.

McCollum is legit. No idea why the Blazers would do this. :confusedshrug:

He's a legit backup guard. Good low-profile type of player for the Spurs.

This is good and exactly what we needed.

I dont wanna jinx shit but **** the Spurs have executed this trade period to perfection, can't ask for anything else, this was the best possible scenario and they delivered.

Cheers

...but that is why the question was sooooo interesting! Why would the Blazers do it? :confusedshrug:

He is a good signing.... Young.. Cheap.. Has shown potential and will likely will fill the role well with the spurs.. He is pretty athletic which will help the Spurs a lot.

So Spurs roster so far
Parker/Ray/mills
Green/Manu
Leonard/Anderson
Alridge/west/Diaw
Duncan

Looking at that they need to sign a backup centre.. And maybe a player who can play backup SG/SF

If they can get any decent players for those roles it's looking like a very good roster

Wow Kings...

Spurs are just absolutely winning this off-season, wtf.

I'd more prefer

Parker/Ray(Mills)
Green/Mills/Manu
Leonard/Anderson
Alridge/west/Diaw
Duncan/(Diaw)

Manu can not, under any circumstances, be the second best option in that spot

EDIT - Just noticed Anderson there haha **** that guy being a 2nd option too

Now now...

Let's not go overrating Mr McCallum here... He's a good ball player, but he'll never be starter material. At best, 2nd string... Realistically... 3rd string. As a Kings fan I'd rather have Stockton or Miller. Both have unique skillsets that McCallum doesn't have.

Of course you going to say that cause your team just gave him away :facepalm :facepalm

One thing the Spurs have always done is get the absolute best out of their guards.. Somehow the coaching staff is capable of isolating their skill sets and pushing them to play a style that works to their strength

Look at these names
Parker
Manu
George hill
Roger mason
Cory Joseph
Patty mills
beno
Bellenelli

Now all these players looked very very good on the Spurs team.. Now let's look at mills, mason, hill, beno and marco..They all played their best basketball on the Spurs and looked like completely different players on other rosters

Good size, and showed flashes of being a legit NBA starter. still, i feel he's destined for a career back up, but great pick up by the spurs, nonetheless. Mad king being the mad king.

Spurs straight cleaning up this off season. Got a legit ass pg for what will amount to one of the last picks in the draft.

This dude got game. The 20 or so games Parker will miss this upcoming year this dude will shine. He played well under the weird circumstances in Sactown. Give him the structure and business-like setting in SA and this dude will open some eyes.

CoJo's replacement.

He is decent when having minutes though.

I like his game. He'll be a nice scoring guard off the bench. If he learns from Tony, they can be similar players once Tony bows out of the game. He has the potential for sure.

The guy was a highly national recruit coming out of high school, a McDonald's All American even. He turned down big schools like Arizona, Florida, and UCLA to play for his dad who's the head coach of University of Detroit Mercy. Never got the national attention he could've gotten, but hopefully with the spotlight on San Antonio, excellent coaching, he can live up to his potential. Seems like a good kid.

I like Ray. Good player, hard worker, seems to know how to run a team. None of the Kings 14 Head Coaches seemed to like him and play him consistently enough. Ray seems like a good guy so I am happy for him and hopefully he gets an opportunity with the Spurs. Basically just clearing a few dollars for the Kings and hopefully helping out Ray's future.
