The shit head known as "Mark Cuban" goes cheap after winning a ring in hopes of getting Dwight the year after. By doing this he allows his key championship pieces to go elsewhere, killing the chances his team had at contending that year.

Before that he pushed for the infamous CP3 veto -- not only to make the Lakers weaker (a conference rival) but to sway Dwight from potentially joining CP3 and Kobe on what would be another dynasty in the making for LA.

Not only did the Lakers unload Odoomed on him, what he thought was a Laker gift but Cuban also lost on Dwight and now he loses De'Andre Jordan to CP3 (of all people) and the Clippers, after paying a 25k fine for running his mouth in celebration. Not only did he lose De'Andre but also Monta and Chandler in his pursuit for him.

He also did Dirk wrong asking him to take a cut on his contract - for literally nothing but hopes of grandeur. The ultimate strategist is the ultimate failure.

Poetic justice I must say.

What you mean the fantasy about how it was Stern acting as the team owner and vetoing the trade? That complaining from Cuban and Gilbert had nothing to do with him stepping in when he said he wasn't? that it somehow wasn't a huge conflict of interest to have the NBA to own a team to begin with?

Lol, funny that the league didn't even go with that BS at the beginning. They said it had nothing to do with owning the team and he did it as the commissioner. Somehow all the suckers ate up that 2nd story that he was innocently doing it as the defacto owner.

So Lakers were getting more talent and shedding salary, meanwhile a team owned by the league in search of an owner was going to take on a bunch of salary.

It's not complicated.

Because of the veto NO got anthony davis(it allowed them to tank). isnt that better than scola, kevin martin and gasol?

pretty sure it was the right decision

They would have had one nice Playoff run together though, Pau was still great, Scola was beasting, Kevin Martin can put up 20 a game easily..

No one at the time knew how beastly AD Was going to be. Clippers lost because they could have had AD right now with Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan, imagine that front court :applause:

See you don't understand it after all this time:facepalm

The team was owned by all the owners.they all got to vote on decisions And the last thing you want while selling a team is to trade their biggest player and lower the sale price.

They didn't get a vote, lol. Did you just make that up? The whole point of leaving it autonomous was so crap like that wouldn't happen. Other teams shouldn't get influence on how trades go down because you'll end up with teams making or not making moves that benefit their own team and not the Hornets. It was a huge conflict of interest. Lol, you think they actually had a vote system set up for the owners to decide what the Hornets do?

That all happened because of the labor agreement had literally just been signed and Stern had just promised the new agreement would keep super teams from forming. Had they waited even a week it probably would have done through. I hope you have a better understanding of what happened, why, and why it was such a crappy thing to do.

:wtf: no it hasn't been "avenged"...not even close. The Lakers would have had a dynasty with Kobe, CP3, Dwight and Phil. Instead, Kobe's twilight basketball years have been horribly wasted. At least he got paid though...

This also means that the Clippers will remain relevant, and given the choice, I'd rather have the Mavs be good instead of the Clippers.

What a ridiculous thread.

A nice icing on the cake would be if they tank and get the #8 pick in next year's draft.

yeah I'm sure the Pelicans would take Gordan & Austin Rivers over Dragic, Kevin Martin & the 16th pick in the 2012 nba draft (Terrence Jones, Draymond, Zeller, Sullinger, Wroten, Plumlee, Kris Middleton still on the board).. which is what they would have gotten if the Cp3 trade goes through as originally projected

They would gotten a expirer in Odom and I great leader in Gasol. What's not to like about that trade? I understand why is what veto, but saying for basketball reason, as the main reason? Please, that trade was win win for both team, in terms of what both team wanted, experience, leadership and shedding some salary.

What Stern wanted is to have the Lakers down so other teams could have a chance in the spotlight as simple as that.

And Cuban and Daryl Morey are lowkey homeboys, that's why Mark didn't bitch and complain when Dwight signed with Houston.
