Gerald Green is a solid pick up. he can make his open shots and flashes a 25-30 point game 3-4 times in a season.

Surprised other teams didn't aim for him when he's a good 2-3.

Great pickup for the Heat. Their lineup is really solid now, if they can stay healthy they could be the 2nd best team in the East.

PG - Dragic/Chalmers
SG - Wade/Green
SF - Deng/Winslow
PF - Bosh/McRoberts
C - Whiteside/Anderson

For a team who's starting SG is gonna miss 25 games every season, a guy like Green is a great fit.

For the minimum. Can't get any better than that. :applause:

That's a bargain. He is worth a MLE in today's NBA

Everyone and their momma has been getting overpaid and now green signs for the min? Damn he's definitely worth more than shumpert to me, so the heat just got the biggest steal of the summer. Dude might be 6MOTY.

He didn't have a very good year last year, dropped off from the impressive 2014 season he had, so he's probably betting on himself for one year, and re-entering free agency in 2016 when everyone will have money.

If they stay healthy they are a top-4 seed.

Nice! He will be a great spark off the bench!

Now to add some depth at the Center position....

I am so glad with this pickup and I cannot believe teams were willing to pay Derrick Williams 5 times more than Gerald Green. A great signing that will give Wade occasional breathers.

Miami quietly had a great offseason

- Re-signed Wade for just 1 year, which leaves open cap space for 2016
- Drafted Winslow with the #10 pick
- Signed Green to a minimum deal

:applause:

I thought this team would be a wreck when Lebron left, but they look like they could bounce back very nicely this year.

Great signing. Damn, the Heat definitely looks to be the second best team in the East. If Lebron performs his annual disappearing act in the ECF instead of saving it for the finals, Miami may advance.

Miami's biggest issue will be their health. They go into the post season healthy and they're as good as any of the upper eastern teams

The Heat are going to be strong next year.

Riley's had a very good summer. Solid signing at that price. If Heat stay healthy, they can really make some playoff noise.

Yep.

If the Cavs weren't one of the most stacked teams ever....they'd have a real chance to come out of the East.

As of now...I just can't imagine anyone challenging the Cavs. Heat would have the best chance in a playoff series...even if their regular season doesn't indicate that.

Maybe if Whiteside just goes nuts...they could be "live" against the Cavs.

Assuming he plays the way he did in Phoenix, that's a great pickup for Miami.

If healthy they should be competing for a deep postseason run.

Nice. Hopefully Wade & Bosh will be better off not having played a long playoff run for the first time in 4 years also. Can definitely make some noise next season.

I have seen the last few year's playoffs and Lebron never disappeared in the ECFs. Of course you may have no idea because Rose never made it that far.

Great option off the bench...the problem is that Spo is still on it...

Good signing for Miami, but they still need to change the defensive system which has been exposed the last 2 years.

Maybe if Whiteside just goes nuts...they could be "live" against the Cavs. They'd be major hyped about playing the Cavs in a series. I too think a healthy Cleveland squad is too stacked for this version of Miami to beat. I don't want to knock these guys, but Miami is going to rely on Gerald Green and Winslow to not mess up for a combined 30-35mpg in big playoff games, which is something I can't bank on happening this year. I give them a pass b/c Green's inconsistent and Winslow is a rookie. They do have a window of a few years to harass LBJ though in theory.

I will say, assuming these two meet in ECF, it would be one heck of an entertaining series. No offense to fans of other teams, but I want to see the Riley Revenge Series!

Nice pick up. Essentially swapping Beasley for Green. Beasley is a better player, but whatever. Green is a good player in his own right.

The only problem with this team now is Spo, his rigidness and inability to adjust.

Green was a good player and great teammate. It's a shame he lost his role last season because he couldn't re-produce what he did in the previous season. Expect some nice dunks, highlight reels, hot and cold shooting streaks, poor defense, poor shot selection (although he's capable of making some). But when his shots are falling, watch out!

great pickup for Miami, Green should get plenty of playing time when Wade misses 20+ games. Maybe Dragic and Green can recreate some of that magic a couple years ago when they played together when Bledsoe was out.

Time for Wade and Bosh to show if they are worth the money Miami is going to be paying them.

:oldlol:

I like the Heat roster a lot. Even if they give up Chalmers and Andersen for nothing. But I dunno. Wade is old and will miss 20 games probably. Bosh recovering from a frigging blood clot in his lungs, how will his conditioning be? Can Spoe really motivate these new young bloods?

Still a damn good team. But there's a lot of competition in that 2nd/3rd tier in the East. I still think pretty much just Sixers and Knicks have 0% playoff chance. All other East teams are at least decent (by East standards), imo.
