Jordan Clarkson looks like the best player on the floor with Randle and Nance behind him. Russell didn't stand out at all. Hope he picks it up in Summer League

I need to see Randle go full speed. Him and Clarkson dominated the summer league last year. I wanna see Randle isolate bigger guys every now and then on the perimeter.

Randle is strong and Russel has a nice looking shot. He's going to be James Harden like with that thing.

Agreed. Clarkson and Randle looked really good. Russell...not so much. Fvck, even Nance looked more impressive. Kid's probably still shitting his pants. Clarkson looked comfortable as hell.

Russell is going to struggle early on. I hope Laker fans know that because I see a lot in panic mode already. They overhype players and situations without really knowing the reality of it. Kid is going to take a minute.

Aside from trolls, I'd like to think most level-headed Laker fans know this. Like I said in another thread, the only bright side to last season was seeing Clarkson develop throughout the season. No fvcking way is Russell going to start playing at a high level. I mainly just want a full season of seeing how everyone grows, especially since an injury cheated us out of seeing Randle play. I'm especially interested in seeing how Clarkson does with some added confidence and a full season under his belt. I honestly haven't been this excited since I watched Blake during those pre-CP3 games.

Lol, anyone remember how raw Clarkson was at first? Even Randle...These guys have to learn how to slow the games down before they can truly play their game. Nance is also a four year college player. Those guys 9 times outta 10 come ready, matured. Russell should be fine once he gets a rhythm.

You would think the #2 pick could stand out on the floor with maybe 7 guys who make the final roster

Clarkson dominated in Summer League. If Russell can't do the same, I'll start to panic

Nikoloz Tskitishvili also dominated in the Summer League. Guys like Duncan and Durant struggled. Doesn't mean a thing.
It usually takes PGs longer to develop than most players too.

Clarkson looked like dogshit the way he kept bricking that floater early last season, which is why I'm not expecting much from Russell early on.

We have 4 guys who can make plays off the dribble in our starting lineup that is quite valuable.
Those nikkas are fast. The white boy must be feeling like he's in the matrix and seeing all these bullets fly past by him. :wtf:

Completely different scenario. Clarkson was 22 and played 4 years in college while Russell played 1 season and is 19. Those 3 years of development matter. If you panic if he doesn't shine right away, that's pretty dumb if you ask me. Patience. Last year, the guy was in high school. Bball is a game of skill. He has a lot of it but he still needs time to adjust to the NBA size and athleticism and just feel comfortable. It won't happen overnight. He's not an athletic freak who can just impose his will on the game.

Really excited for this upcoming season. Love so many of the young legs on our team. Nothing better than having a roster full of young talent to get excited about.

He'll be fine. You know why? Cause the dude's got game and can straight up play the game of basketball. It's there. The bball iq, vision, passing, anticipation, iso skills, ability to hit the outside shot along with a quick release and most importantly, the self belief in himself. Sometimes what separates one player from another is simply confidence and the belief that you are that good and you belong. Dude definitely has "the man" swagger.

Clarkson was the best Lakers player in the 2nd half of the season. And likely this season.

Didn't lebron have a pedestrian summer league his rookie year. I think he had like 12-13ppg 3 and 4 on sub 45% shooting.
Came rookie year averaging 20 5 and 5.

I'd rather see them throw D'Angelo on the 2nd team so that he would go head to head with Clarkson. He seemed to be cruising that whole scrimmage while Clarkson and Randle were more aggressive.
