I was at a bar a couple of weekends ago and it was my two buddies and I and another party. When the song came on, my one buddy and that group from across the room started singing it.

Half way into the song they stopped singing. Then said party, left and walked past our table to get to the exit and he started singing it and they sang back.:facepalm

It was a very cringe worthy moment......

...but yes, everybody seems to sing along to it.:confusedshrug:

We're older so we grew up listening to that song. Could be nostalgia. Do young people get hyphy for it too?

hawker i went through my oasis phase way after you did, like 2nd year university. they knew their style and rarely diverted from that delivery. wonderwall is the epitome. err maybe champaigne supernova instead? anyway its good tunes for a young man is all i'm saying

how much do you now dig them for nostalgic reasons and how much do you still see genius in their artistry? i can't see it any more. far as i can tell they're just coldplay but for the 90s.

tbh i'd rather sing along to free fallin

I wonder why,
I wonder how
Yesterday we talked about a blue blue sky
But all that I can see
It's just a yellow lemon tree

every bitch sings this instantly. The song is OLD

Yep, no shame in getting inspiration from the greats. They made good, unassuming music unlike the Gallagher brothers, who think they're the second coming of Jesus. Even Blur was better than Oasis as far as I'm concerned, and Damon Albarn is way more talented than the Gallaghers.

"welcome to the world of the plastic beach" is a strange wonderful journey, but i've never seen it praised like demon days or the s/t. i love gorillaz, such a cool concept for when he did it. oddly enough i have never listened to a minute of blur.

can we turn this thread into people telling stories of what a cvnt noam is? or which one is the bigger cvnt? didn't one of them get mad at jay z for being at a festival a few years back or something...

I'm not as obsessed as I used to be but I know these few things to be true:

-greatest rock band of the 90s
-greatest song of the 90s
-hands down better than blur
-Noel is a great artist. Talk shit about his chords but if it was so easy then why did no one else do it and be as successful as him?
-90s Liam is a great frontman
-having a rock n roll attitude =\=a cvnt

donks, I used to be able to listen to every one of their songs and singalong joyfully to it but 3-5 years back I found myself skipping them a lot which is when I knew I had finally grown tired of them but it took me a long ass time to get there.

You must be young then again I don't know anyone that would sing to Oasis songs unless they grew up listening to them.

Yeah that's all it was. Noel recognizes Jay-z's talent.

things are good man, thanks for asking. i did a some travelling 3-4 years ago, w.europe and then did the israeli birth rite trip. now i'm sticking it out a few more years in my little corner of n.america, working while pursuing my out educational agenda on the side. taking it all in stride, til i trip, fall down, everybody laughs, but like papa bruce told me, i pick myself right back up again.

or like costanza says, my father told me to give up. i pick myself up, brush myself off, and throw myself right back down again! haha

my travelling plans for the future include

1. american roadtrip
2. yr long working trip to latin america or s.east asia

never been down under though. some day.

pretty sure if noel and the other guy felt free to plagiarize as much as they wanted, this is what they would have called their band name

it's a long forgotten past time, ripping on oasis in hawker threads. i think i need to reminisce
