Wiggins playing in Summer League is redundant. The guy won Rookie of the Year. The smart thing is to rest after playing 82 games. Embiid, on the other hand, has a lot to prove. Unfortunately, due to another setback/surgery, he's still a gigantic question mark.

Wiggins hasn't proven anything. He only won the ROY by default and injuries, hence why he had one of the worse ROY seasons in league history. Maybe the worst considering he lost 60+ games.

Pan Am games are also in Toronto, so its more special for him to represent his country and city rather than play in the summer league. I think his off season routine is going fine.

This. Summer league is for rookies, second year players who need a bunch of improvement over their rookie seasons and random assorted scrubs.


Wiggins showed himself to be pretty damn legit last year, no reason for him to be messing around in the Summer League.
