It's a great story - that cop is definitely not your average.

I became a big fan of Butler's when he played for the Lakers, he was a fearless player and never shrank either from the lights or from Kobe, both of which are rare occurrences.

There's a lot of good cops out there like that. Probably more than the egomaniac aholes.

When I was 17 a cop caught me with a loaded rifle in my truck. I had a live round jammed in the breach I couldn't get out. I was on my way back home from shooting rabbits when the cop pulled me over. He could have made a felony arrest but not only did he let me go, he actually took the time to unjam my rifle and put it back in my truck after he fixed it.
