This is a question for the older NBA watchers to be honest, about the league losing Magic. I realise that Magic was past 30, and I realise Jordan had just started on his first 3-peat, via beating Magic and the Lakers.

I know this is a huge what if, but I'm just wondering how competitive that series was, and, whether Magic would have been able to have prevented Jordan from his first 3-peat? Like, was losing Magic a huge part in the Chicago Bulls' success? Or would the Lakers be defeated by better teams coming up in the West? And then they obviously, lost to the Bulls.

How long do you feel Magic would have continued to play? With it being the Lakers, would have they have been a huge feature, and decider, in who wins the NBA Championship?

Lakers weren't even supposed to be in the 1991 finals. They upset the better Blazers team. Magic had them playing at above their normal level but they were no match for peak MJ along with Pippen and Grant. Too much athleticism for the older Lakers. Lakers were a shell of their prime years.

Oh really? Do you think that there was anyway in which the Lakers could have retooled maybe? I don't even really know how they fared without Magic.

Edit: They only just made the playoffs, with a below .500 record. Wait, in the 91/92 season, the #8 seed Lakers beat the #1 Blazers? Damn..

Yea.

Magic led them to a great run.

He was past his prime. Even without the hiv, magic only had a couple good years left. He was laboring on bad knees.

No match for mj.
