best three players since Jordan era

or are there any haters out there that would pick Shaq or someone else over these 3?

Shaq is better than all 3 in terms of pure impact on the court. He is a better basketball player than all of them regardless of how much each guy won or whatever. Kobe and Duncan winning one more title doesn't change that IMO.

Shaq ranks higher than those 3. Duncan / Kobe is inter-changable in ATG rankings, while Lebron trying to sniff in the top 10 spot.

I've been negged for defending all four players, what is with this board? Just assuming everyone is a stan? it's just fake internet points but damn, no love?

How about they are all 21 years old in the same draft, who you taking to build around?

Shaq, Bron, Duncan then Kobe.

Shaq, Bron, Duncan then Kobe.

Same.

Still love that a Kobe lead team plays with grit and tenacity. Those Kobe lead teams a few years back were fierce competitors. The others are easier to play with and build around though.

Which really isn't an insult considering they all hold physical advantages over him and are All-Time greats in their own right :oldlol:
It'd be wise to take any great Bigman over a great Perimeter player (not named Michael Jordan) to build a team around. That's just principle.

If we're just comparing ability..

I'd take Shaq over Duncan in terms of all-around play, particularly if we're talking Peaks. If we're talking career, i'm taking both Duncan and Kobe over him due to longevity and ability to play at an elite level for unprecedented amounts of time.

But in response to OP, you're absolutely right. They're easily the best of the Post-Jordan era and i'm gonna miss all three once they're gone.

Kobe/Duncan > Shaq > LeBron.
Sorry I look at the complete package.
Duncan & Kobe both have won championships without another superstar on their team. They are winners in every sense of the word. I just don't see Shaq & LeBron the same way.

LeBron & Shaq, however, are more dominant players.
They have the Wilt syndrome though, to a lesser extent.

That's how I ranked these guys. Since MJ retired, one of these guys have been on NBA Finals ever since.

Numbers does not reflect that Spurs were playing illegal zone against Shaq with the Admiral and Samaki and Horry were the ones who's keeping Duncan in check and Phil only used Shaq on Duncan in the last 3-4 minutes of the game.

in terms of all 21 years old and who I'd draft as per OP's scenario

Duncan always had a great team around him and a great coach, I wonder how he would've done in someone else's shoes. With that in mind tho, 3 Finals MVPs and his longevity is incredible.

Who, besides Shaq, was the other superstar when LA defeated Indiana in the 2000 Finals?

Lol, ok, Kobe might not have been a "superstar" in 2000 yet, but he was still a top 10 player and really good second option. Shaq did win with a superstar SG for his other 3 titles though

One could technically argue that Wade really wasn't looked as a superstar until after the 2005 postseason.

Really good player going in, superstar after the 2005 season was over.
