Rondo should thrive with WCS/Cousins as his bigs with Belinelli/Gay on the perimeter.

It's not "crazy" per se, just seems unlikely... For now.

The roster is rounding out pretty well, but I still have some spacing issues with a team that runs as many straight post ups as they do. Rondo and WCS are no guards out there, and Gay is streaky. And that's assuming Gay shoots as well as he did last year.
I think they'll look a lot better if McLemore takes one more decent step. I'd actually be interested in what they'd look like with McLemore at the three and Bellinelli at the two, around WCS and Cousins, with Rondo running PnR with Willie. And extended time around Gay at the PF spot. Even with Boogie out and WCS at center, I could envision all types of cutting and spacing with Gay, Bellinelli, and McLemore around a Rondo WCS PnR.
And Koufos is a great piece as a third big. Especially with Boogie, because he can play some from the elbows.
How fast can WCS find a fit?
Is Rondo willing to play anymore?
Has McLemore taken another step?
Can Gay repeat what was a surprisingly effective year?
Can Bellinelli step into a larger role than his Spurs gig?
Those would be my questions. And I'd expect them to be in the mix at the bottom of the Western playoffs.

It's what I've been trying to tell you idiots for the last week or so
Everyone is caught up in the media shitting on us, they've looked past that we've gotten SIGNIFICANTLY better from last year. It's not even close. The Philly salary dump might have been a bit stupid, but it's irrelevant now as we landed all these guys. Vlade has done an INSANE job. If we get to the playoffs, mark my words he wins the executive/GM of the year EASILY.

We have a superstar in DMC. His contract is nearly up, and he wants to win. NOW. We are doing our best shot at that. I'm sure every King is tired of trying to develop talent over time.

I'd start Ben Mac.
Yeah Ben should start
Need his perimeter defense and athleticism.

If they win more than the Suns/Jazz/Nuggets, they have a chance. Trailblazers & Mavs might miss the playoffs in 2016 after making them in 2015.
they are very deep. Hope they do well.

Depends on what kind of Rondo are they getting. If it's Boston Rondo they have a legitimate leader to get them there but if he's out there playing like the crybaby version he was in Dallas, they are going to be at the bottom of the conference.

7th-8th seed in the West. Rondo is going to perform close to the level we expect from him. Contract year, 29 years old. He can get one more potential 60-80 million dollar deal before riding off in the sunset.
If they improve on dysfunction, I can see them being a fun run n gun team to watch.

Looks good on paper but wouldn't shock me if the press corps entered their locker room one night to find a massive murder-suicide scene at some point this season.

They certainly have the talent to snatch away the 7th or 8th seed in the West, but I'm not sure about that locker room with guys like Rondo and all the DMC/George Karl crap going on. Hell, I've even heard that WCS has mental issues as well (drive and motivation) I really hope that they can put it all together because this team could be really fun to watch.

Have you even seen WCS play? Have you listened to any of his recent interviews? If anything he is the exact opposite of what you're thinking. He plays his heart out every minute on the floor. You don't put up 15 points 8 rebounds and 5 blocks in less than 20 minutes without intensity. Regardless if it's the summer league. WCS needs no external motivation. He was born ready.

Yeah, I've seen his SL highlights. He looks solid so far. I'm just going by what the rumors were suggesting heading into the Draft. There were a ton of rumors suggesting that his heart wasn't really in basketball. I'll admit though, that he has looked impressive in SL so far.
Just hope that you guys don't have a Larry Sanders situation down the line, lol.

in my mind they're duking it out with New Orleans, Utah and Dallas for the 7 and 8 spots

I don't think Utah or Dallas have a snowballs chance in hell at the 8th seed. I think Phoenix and Denver are more equipped than those two at the moment (depending on if Brandon Knight can fit next to Eric Bledsoe...having two ball dominant combo guards could potentially be a nightmare, and the Nuggets could add even more depth to the team by moving Lawson).

Utah was a completely different team once they gave Gobert the center spot. they are loaded with young talent and played extremely well after the break last season. I'm a Nuggets fan, but there's no way in hell they're sniffing the playoffs next season. The future looks good with Mudiay, Nurkic and Jokic and the Knicks pick next season but this year is gonna be more of the same imo.

You need to look at Utah's record after they traded Kanter. They finished the season 20-11 and are a LOCK to make the playoffs.
Denver isn't even CLOSE to making the playoffs. I don't understand why you think losing their best player for scraps after his 2nd DUI would help them jump 15+ wins.

No one is a LOCK to make the playoffs. Ask OKC.

Call ME crazy but this team has the talent to hang with anyone in the western conference if all their names click in a positive way. To me that's a good team they've assembled there. There of course are variables I'm unsure about regarding certain players as I'm sure the rest of you have similar thoughts about.

You are crazy. Outside of Cousins they don't have a single player in the top half of the league at their position. They are also combustible with too many recognizable names that like caressing the rock a little too much. 10 seed looks about right. Maybe 9 seed if things break right for them.

I agree, depends on which Rondo the Kings get. DMC has proven that he is a force, now. Plus Rudy Gay is streaky, so we will have to see how he performs, too.

They are actually quite talented. They also added Casspi for more shooting too.
They have a lot of players that compliment Cousins well with shooters like Gay,Belinelli,Mclemore and Casspi. Rondo's D and passing will be the key for them. If he plays like he used to, they'll be dangerous. If he plays like last year, they will crumble.
This team would look SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good with Malone as HC.
