I just put this paypal "donate" button up on my brand new website (http://www.smokestackwriting.com)! I'm trying to see if it's working correctly. :lebronamazed:

Would yall mind goin on there and seein if maybe a $10-20 donation goes through?? :yaohappy:

I've got big plans for the site, BIG plans, REALLY BIG PLANS but right now it only has my picture journal of my recent trip across the southwest. Which still has a lot of editing and retroactive additions to be made, it's quite sloppy and disjointed right now, so my frenemies can feel free to "ether" me about its layout or current content (:lol ), but it's still a large work in progress. Eventually however the travel journal will just be one piece in a large cache of what I hope to be interesting writing and video endeavors.

I'm working very hard to creating a website with some unqiue entertainment content. Right now I need to see if this dang donate button is working properly! Any support would be GREATLY appreciated from all my homies in Bruges

:biggums: :lebronamazed: :basketball

I dont want you to feel bad.

Don't worry, I don't feel bad!

I'm not worried about the design right now. Once I've got content flowing I can worry about aesthetics. Right now I still have a lot of text to add/revise just to the project that's on there.

I do appreciate the feedback though

Snap.

I think I see what the issue was. I just got on the horn with paypal tho and got it fixed up.

Go ahead and give it another try!

Nah, you need to get repeated viewership. So your design has to be on point from the very beginning.

Also, try to set up an optin box so you can collect the emails of your viewers. If you dont know what that is, it is one of those things that are like "To make sure you get the latest updates on my amazing adventure, make sure you subscribe to...."

That way you can build up an email list of people who actually like the site, and email them as soon as the new post drops. Over time you will be able to get hundreds and thousands of hits to your site immediately just by sending an email.

If you dont do this, when a person looks at your site and leaves, they are gone forever. You will very rarely get repeated hits. You would just be fighting a losing battle to build your viewership. Setting up twitter and facebook accounts with a lot of followers/likes is also important to build up a fan base.

Just my 2 cents.

Btw are you looking to make money with this site?

same here ISH.. can yall do me a huge favor and all transfer me $5-10? It's less than what the OP is asking and i'm not a total retard so your money will be the hands of someone much more capable and slightly less greedy.

Well you're right that I'm definitely taking an unorthodox approach so far. But this is basically my thinking:

I'm already done with the trip, so there aren't really any new entries to be made at this point. I basically just want to get a fun little read up on there to amuse people since I've already got it written out. Once I have that completed I'll transition the main page of the site into a daily blog, and the travel piece will just be an archived project people can click on and check out at will. And then I'll also do other extended writing pieces to put in an archive.

I have another project I want to do, detailing all the myriad times I was arrested for silly things as an adolescent and describe the humorous stories of the cops I interacted with and people I shared holding cells with and the background stories of how I got arrested. I want to actually go and dig up all my mugshots becuase I def took a few funny ones but it's time intensive and you have to like call up the county and have them go through the records and then I think pay to get a copy of it etc.

Also gonna make a variety of different kinds of videos that will be posted to Youtube but also included on the website.

Contrary to what people on here try to insist in order to get under my skin, my parents don't finance me and haven't in years. I've been leaning heavily on medical studies (which will also make for a very intersting writing piece one day :lol ) and all sorts of other random stuff. I worked in a sausage factory in the middle of nowhere in Texas etc. I've met people with crazy stories. Basically I've lived a super unconventional lifestyle throughout my 20s and I want to use all my stories and experiences to bring insight and lulz to people. I did a few studies before leaving CA to save up some money for the moving costs but the trip and then leasing my apartment basically dried up my funds, so I've gotta start raising money so that I can continue to work on getting this stuff off the ground.

So yeah. I think I've got some cool ideas but they'll take a little time to get fully operative and having support from anyone who enjoys reading this kinda stuff would be hugely helpful and I'd be very grateful for it!

Looks awesome! You're quite talented and entertaining!

I don't think Deuce is capable of being an entertaining writer which is why he always takes jabs at mr. samuels. samuels is everything deuce IS NOT.

Chris Sam is LOOSE at parties and social events. Deuce is uptight, shy, guarded. To himself.

Chris Sam is a free spirit

Deuce is a caged animal

Chris Sam is funny, boisterous, and well hung.

Deuce is ugly, boring, and lacked friendships on myspace.

Chris Samuels is the 'cool' guy that used to embarrass Deuce in high school with his superior social skills....

"Come on Deuce, SAY SOMETHING.... stop being a little bitch"

*cute girls giggle*

*deuce turns red*

Deuce hides behind his worthless degree and worthless job to justify his worthless social life.

Chris Sam isn't hiding behind shit. He is who he is. And it's apparent that he's a million times more talented and interesting than Deuce Wallace. And has way more social connections.

Chris Sam wins again. At life.

Ehh...? Thanks for that...?

Altho the truth is I'm not really a social butterfly. I'm not afraid of social situations bc I'm very comfortable being myself, which is why I'm willing to ham it up for the enjoyment of the camera/crowd, but in person I'm not any kind of conversation-dominating extrovert, unless it's a topic I care about. But I'm not someone who makes a lot of small talk with everyone in the room. I say my piece confidently when its my time but otherwise I let others do the bantering.

Altho I do go HAM on people in real life when theyre being rude or obnoxious etc in public/social situations. I'm actually not that good at keeping up ordinary conversation about cars and the weather, but when I have something i WANT to discuss, I'm very open and even aggressive about doing so.

I'm not a "leader" in social situations, but I'm also never a follower. I do my own thing, try to contribute what I can, and never cave to pressures that dont make sense for me personally.

I dunno. I think I'm a pretty nice guy overall. :confusedshrug: I genuinely want what's best for everyone.
