I feel like Ainge always ends up trading for players he wanted in drafts at a later date or when they are at a crossroads.
he did it with Jeff Green

What are some other examples of this?

Courtney Lee, Qyntel Woods, Lindsey Hunter, Chucky Atkins, Jerryd Bayless, Joel Anthony, Tyler Zeller, Marcus Thornton, Shavlik Randolph, Chris Douglas-Roberts, Gigi Datome, Isaiah Thomas, and Jonas Jerebko.
Great pickup if he can stay healthy, he played well with Durant out.

Hopefully he makes like Turner and Crowder and finds his niche here.

Does that put them over the Knicks for the favourite to win the division ?
Maybe, but they are a really deep team. They have the coach, now they have to make the run.

Couple of things OP, since when is it called "breaking" news for a nobody to be acquired from a non relevant team?

C's have 17 players so Jones might not make it out of camp.
Raps are the fave of the division but the Celtics might grab it if the Raps fail

I thought he'd develop into a good player
is the kid really that bad???
thought it was him being underutilized by Brooks. He did look decent after KD got hurt but went down himself.

He's never been given any real meaningful playing time. He got a bunch of minutes with WB and KD out last year, showed some good stuff, and some pretty rough edges, but being dumped for a 2nd round pick should end up being robbery for the Celtics.
He can play multiple positions(especially heading into a small ball era) and is at a point in his career where he needs to get on the court consistently to prove himself or he will be out of the league despite clearly having the talent to be at the very least a rotation player.
Low risk, with high reward possibility, maybe he can finally get some burn and show us what he can do with consistent playing time.
Celtic grade: B+
OKC mishandled Jones from day one and I will bet he is glad to be out of there. OKC should have established some value by getting him playing time last year(after showing some nice flashes filling in for the injured stars), but instead, they let him rot another year and end up giving him away for almost nothing.
OKC grade: D (the return could have and probably should have been more than a 2nd rounder)
