Do White people really despise "Poor White Trash"?

Almost every time there are some trashy looking White people in the presence of other Whites, there is a look of sheer disgust. They are never shy to talk down about them, even in the presence of other people of different races. I've seen it many times. One time, a fellow supervisor told me : "I'm not hiring that "White Trailer Trash Woman". Do they really loathe them that much?

And it doesn't necessarily have to do with their economic status. You can be middle class and white trash. It's more about tastes, habits, mannerisms, etc.

Eating cans of beans for every meal. Working the graveyard shift... Trying to pay your way through college while still having to help out the family financially. I don't despise white trash.

I do, however, look down on them for choosing to live that way, just like I look down on blacks and hispanics who choose to live that way.

And before you give me that liberal 'they didn't choose to live that way', yes they did.

Trash and poor are two different things. I'll never look down on someone poor who is happy with where they are. If you are poor, and unhappy, and constantly bitch about how life is unfair, then to me you are garbage.

You can't really stop and tone down the nonchalant behavior of someone when they are single. Neither can you really stop twos kink when they are a couple.

You may be able to tell them they are not reaching their potential. But then, what DO you really have to offer anyways.

That's more "red neck" territory than "white trash." Red necks don't amuse me quite as much as white trash do. Again, it's not about the resources you have access to, it's about how you carry yourself.

Many white trash might be poor, but their poverty doesn't make them white trash. Their tendencies would remain largely unchanged with an influx of resources. See beverly hillbillies.

meh rich people aren't that bad. worst u get are privileged snobs and they're rather rare, and usually really old people at a golf course or tennis club. usually rich people are very polite and well mannered, and not very confrontational. a lot of celebrities make the rich look bad but its usually the younger rich brats.

ghetto people are the worst tbh. always blaming everyone else for their problems, asking for money, being belligerent or confrontational, disrespectful and unpredictable sometimes, and all in all have much less class. they're the ones talking on a cell phone at the movies, getting loud and making a spectacle in a argument/disagreement, first to get physical, and just overall the biggest nuisance to the average law abiding upstanding citizen :pimp:

I don't think you can single out one class for this. Every class looks down on other classes. I've known well off people who look down on working class, working class who look down on poor, poor who look down on homeless. They all like to think of themselves as above someone. I don't think it's race specific either. I've got a couple cousins who make barely anything as substitute teachers but like to think they are fashion experts (their girls) I make more than both of them combined but they've made fun of me before for buying clothes at the cheap shops (i don't really care where I buy clothes if they look ok and are comfortable especially when it's stuff I'll mainly wear to the office) here which they refuse to shop at because their snobs. You don't have to be rich and it doesn't have to be a logical thing to be classified as a snob or elitist.
