After seeing what these guys can bring to the table in the NBA, are you happy with your teams selection? You think there are any obvious misses that teams wish they could get a do over for?

Here's my revised top 5 2015 NBA re-draft:

1. Towns - T Wolves are years away from being a potential playoff squad and KAT is as big a project as they come. Some of the other lottery teams don't have that kinda time to build but the Wolves do.

2. Mudiay - He's basically what the Lakers thought D'Angelo Russell would be. Sick passing vision, great athlete and raw scorer.

3. Okafor - Solid pick for the 76ers. He needs to develop a mid range jumper in order to reach his potential as the milk chocolate Pau Gasol.

4. Porzingis - Kid has a chip the size of Latvia on his shoulder. At the time of the draft this seemed as a high risk move but now that we've seen what he can do the risk really is minimal. He's gonna be a star.

5. Mario H - Never heard of this dude and haven't seen him play. Magic are irrelevant anyway.

Not a single team that regrets who they picked that high up in the lottery. All the work they put in thrown out because of a few SL games? :oldlol:

You're dumb if you think Okafor is better than Porzingis.

All Okafor has is flashy post moves.

Porzingis is a better defender, better blocker, WAY better freethrow shooter, taller, faster, more athletic, can shoot long 3s, Mid range, and mobile.

I see Porzingis as having a better career but Okafor having an impact sooner.

Don't you know that every team bases everything on summer league? Teams are already dropping their lottery picks from the rotation based on summer league play.

I don't think Towns is going to live up to being the #1. I think he'll be more like an Al Horford caliber player than a KG/Blake Griffin caliber player... very good, but not great. Don't think I would have taken him #1.

And he did nothing besides 3 blocks vs Okafor and the Sixers.

He made a few nice baskets if you watched the game. His face up game is very smooth for his age and he attacks the rim more than you'd expect for a guy his size. He isn't a lock but he definitely has shown the type of skills to be the best player in the draft class if he pans out.

Going into the draft nobody expected KAT, (or anyone else in the draft) to be a Garnett/Davis level player so that's not much of a prediction.

Yeah and he had some good moves. That high post turn around on okafor looked nice as and is a skill that should translate to the NBA. He had quite a few nice touches in the flow of the offence, it wasn't as if all he did was have 3 blocks and zero impact in other areas like you were making out.

As the premier draft expert on this board I can confirm that Porzingis is in fact a WAY better prospect than Okafor.

Who would you take if you could choose Porzingis or Antetokounmpo?

GA. Porzingis is a great prospect but GA is just a higher ceiling player on both ends imo. GA with a jumper is an all-star as soon as next season, and he's going to be working on that all offseason. Not to mention his form, touch was already solid. Just needs the reps. He's going to break out this year.

okafor handles the ball much better, passes much better, and has better bball iq/court vision.

his poise for a 19 year old is impressive.

he's much stronger than zinger as well

No way Okafor has a better basketball IQ than Porzingis, the kid played top division in Spain, much more advanced tactically than NCAA.

What impact in other areas did he have? He even said at halftime he played poorly. And needed to step up second half. Oh he had 3 rebounds. The game went into OT at that. He was 3-5. 5 attempts, 3 makes. Please stop it. He made one move that gave you a boner and you're going to live off of it.

He's been proven as a below average NBA athlete and according to some of the players he went against the last few days in the Summer League he looks like "just another guy". He was considered to be one of the most NBA ready players in the draft behind Okafor which translates to players with the least potential to grow. When a guy like KAT/Porzingis has a bad summer league it's okay because his draft stock is entirely built on his potential.

Every year we talk about how SL results mean NOTHING and have NO CORRELATION between results and actual NBA play. And every year people overreact to SL.

But he did look pretty brutal.

GOBB
07-16-2015, 04:42 PM
Yeah people put too much stock in SL. You can find all stars in the NBA who didnt look good in SL and guys who are at the end of the bench or out of the NBA who did great in SL.

Judge Russell's rookie season. Not a couple games in SL. I still think Okafor should have been their pick but I'm not going to bash Russell as I liked him as well. Altho I preferred Mudiay more despite being a streaky shooter.

nick young plays in the nba, a more tacticaly advanced league than the ncaa, that doesnt mean there arent tons of college players with higher bball iq than swaggy p
