Pretty harsh, but I do agree that Towns and Russell won't live up to their #1 and #2 positions in the draft. Towns will likely be like Al Horford (which is good, but not exactly what you expect out of your #1 pick) and Russell will end up being solid, and maybe make an all star game at some point, but that's it.

Porzingis and Winslow should reach the level all star

This class is going to be amazing. Wait and see. Everyone writing off D'Angelo but I think he can eventually become a starter. He's only 19 after all. Look for Towns and Okafor to start contributing right away and eventually become all-stars with potentially porzingus and mudiay. On top of this, it seems we will have quite a few more starter-calliber players from this class such as Johnson, WCS, Justise, Kaminsky and who knows who else. It's very strong in comparison to recent classes.

Same here.

We do this same dance every year. Basically people just enjoy proclaiming everyone that isn't dominating right out of the gate as busts.

Yep. I agree. People are just used to seeing these crazy athletic freaks making highlight reels. This class has a lot of players with solid fundamentals on the offense side of the ball. Plus this draft class appears to have some of the hardest working, good character players seen in a long while.

last draft to produce a super star was 07 (and he could be done) bunch of betas since though AD might get there if he stopped playing like a wing

He has been underwhelming for me personally. But he is a smart player that I see vastly improving as the years go by.

I was watching the after game show last night where this ex coach was breaking down plays the kid was doing out there and you begin to realize just how smart Russell is. I feel like once he's in synch with the team, and the style of play around him that he'll be looking pretty impressive. There are various aspects of course that he needs a lot of work on.

PorzinGOAT going to be the best player in this draft. Size, athleticism, IQ, Skills, work ethic, etc. Kid has it all.

What is with everyone saying Okafor got outplayed by Porzingis? I like Porzingis and I think he'll be really good, but Okafor absolutely bullied him. In a real game without 10 fouls Porzingis would be OUT OF THE GAME. Jahlil literally took that dude out. The only reason Porzingis got those blocks was because he had 10 fouls to give so he was free to hack away.

Watching SL, Okafor may have the best post game in the league THIS SEASON. The dude is catching entry passes with one hand and they just stick in there like a catchers mitt. His footwork literally makes me laugh, he makes defenders looks so helpless. He also has that move where he just puts his body into you and takes two steps, and since he can comfortably palm the ball with one hand, he's using his other arm to clear you out.....AND HE CAN EASILY PASS OUT OF THIS MOVE WITH ONE HAND. He's one of the longest AND largest centers in the league. I was also surprised at his skilled midrange game. One that shot starts falling, it's all over.

Part of what makes the low post game less efficient these days is that easy double teams lead to lots of turnovers, and weak entry passes make it difficult for bigs to get/keep good position. Jahlil looks like he'll be able to hold on to the ball better than anyone I've seen spend a lot of time down low, and he's a super easy target for entry passes.

Porzingis reminds me of young Dirk, minus the rebounding. Not saying that he'll ever be THAT good, but just the style of play is similar. He's a long, sweet shooting face-up 4 with surprising quickness and fluidity.

My Draft comparisons so far

1) Towns- Stronger Marcin Gortat
2) Russell- Goran Dragic
3) Okafor- Pau W/ swag
4) Porzingis- Poor man's Dirk w/ attitude
5) Mario- no idea
6)WCS- Stronger Joakim Noah
7) Mudaiy- John Wall/Tyreke Evans

Frank Kaminsky will be a long time starter. For Wisconsin he was called on to be the hub of the offense and to constantly create high-percentage looks by breaking down the defense and scoring from the post. He'll still be able to do that in the NBA, but with NBA spacing and passing, he's also going to be able to bomb away from deep. My prediction for him is Ryan Anderson with better passing, size, and footwork.

I think this will be a solid draft class. I don't think the #1 and #2 picks will even be the best of the class, but overall it should be a solid class. Outside of the first 2 picks I can see some guys having quality careers. Maybe one star will come out of this class.
