I want to pick the Bulls, but I just don't see them getting enough easy baskets. Not enough scoring down low.

I actually think I got the heat.
Both teams arent great at spacing but the heat are a bit better and lebron shot 40% from 3 in a season with mia and high 30s for 2 of the other 3 years.
Rose>Hardaway by a bit
Mj>wade
Lebron>Scottie
Zo>rodman
Shaq>>Noah
I think the heat are just too big for the bulls, bulls dont have a guy to post up with besides mj and maybe pippen but then shaq and zo can protect the paint since joakim or rodman cant hit an outside shot.
Both teams great defensively, ill still take the heat though.

Can LeBron play with Shaq in the middle? Why not put Gilmore in over Noah?

There's so much talent it probably figures itself out, but Wade/Bron/Zo/Shaq looks like one of those nice on paper, terrible on court lineups. Assuming it's in the field with a bunch of other stacked teams (like this scenario).

LOL Shaq rapes that Bulls team. Rose the weak link too with his beta personality.

Bulls in 5, max 6. Their defense is vastly, and I mean vastly better. Offensively output would be pretty similar, even though Heat have more dominant offensive players - there is only one ball, and they are good only when they have it in hands.
Mental edge and toughness also much better in Bulls.
Heat might take a game or two, but I dont see how they outgrind Bulls in series.

What's this talk about the bulls having a much better defense?
Miami has 4 plus defenders in that lineup and 2 elite ones. '05 Shaq actually locked in defensively to prove something to people after the trade. LeBron was a great defender 3/4 of his years with Miami and DPOY level twice. Wade was no slouch and Mourning was basically peak Howard level.
I actually take Miami for these reasons. You literally can't stop peak Wade and prime LeBron on transition off of missed jumpers and TOV, something I think they'd get plenty of against Chicago's atrocious floor spacing..

More like Wade at SG and Tim Bug at PG... I don't know about a frontcourt of LeBron/Zo/Shaq though, I'd probably put Bosh there and have Mourning as that great 6th man.
Gilmore over Noah for the Bulls... Artis gives them that very good scoring at the 5, great rebounder, pretty good shot-blocker, clearly better to deal with Shaq than Joakim due to strength and size.
Anyways, I'd say it's pretty even, either team could take it imho, I don't see no CLEAR advantage for either squad... But if you add a bench, Bulls definitely take it because of players like Bob Love, Ho Grant, Sloan, Kukoc, Van Lier, Chet Walker...

We're using them as they played with the teams right? Because Heat Shaq, even the 04-05 one, was far more mortal than the Lakers version. Putting them all in prime would mean that guys like Parish and Iceman would be playing as well.

I think Miami have better players than those...Bosh, Ray Allen, Glen Rice, Steve Smith, Eddie Jones, Seikaly, etc.
I do agree that Miami team would be better with Bosh at the 4.

04-05 Shaq was a bit past his prime, the Bulls beat a better version of him in 1996.
I might put Pau Gasol in over Noah too ... with Rodman there you don't really need a ton more in terms of boards and he's a harder cover for Shaq because he'd have to come out to guard him.
PG - Rose
SG - Jordan
SF - Pippen
PF - Rodman
C - Gasol

I would prefer a line up of
Bron
Wade
Rice
Jermaine oneal(if player are in their prime)

True as it may, I think 04-05 Shaq has the advantage in much more experience. He (hopefully) would've figured out how the Bulls was able to cover him before and use it to his advantage to destroy that Gasol/Rodman frontline.

He was definitely slower, fatter, and less explosive by 2005. I don't think he would do any more damage than his 96 version did against Rodman + Longley. He'd have to actually guard Gasol too.
If '96 Shaq was on the Heat in 2005, they win the championship easy.
He gained too much weight by that point in his career.

First two paragraphs I agree. This conversation doesn't get interesting until you start filling out the bench. Anyway....Bulls baby!

I pick the Heat in 6 or 7 games. You are a Celtics fan. You probably remembered LeBron destroying your team in the 2012 NBA Playoffs.

How is that not true?
Even 2nd year Shaq shits all over Shaq in 04/05 (18 PER in the playoffs, poor winshares, and he was clearly starting to break down).

I would replace Noah with Gasol even though I know you probably picked Noah because Gasol has only been with the Bulls for 1 season. The floor spacing with Gasol would be much better and his perimeter shot would be huge for that Bulls team. Pippen vs Bron is such an amazing matchup on paper. Pippen is one of the few players in history that I truly believe would shut Bron down or at least make him very inefficient. Jordan vs Wade is fun too. Jordan would absolutely go off though. Shaq would destroy Gasol. Rodman would shut down Mourning. Hardaway would get his against Rose. Rose would get shut down in this series, his lack of perimeter game would hurt the team. Bulls in 7, maybe 6 if Rose has 1 of those fluke games in which his 3 point shot is going well.

I prefer this lineup if they were all in their prime
Gary Payton

Don't care about floor spacing when you have Shaq/Wade and the other team struggling to score.

No way the Bulls are winning 4 games even against the best Heat version of all those players.
It might go to 7...maybe...but the Heat win.
