*years as a great player on a team good enough to make the finals*

kobe

- 2000 - championship
- 2001 - championship
- 2002 - championship
- 2003
- 2004 - finals loss
- 2008 - finals loss
- 2009 - championship
- 2010 - championship
- 2011
- 2012

these were kobes only chances

10 years
7 finals
5 titles

lebron:

2007 - finals loss
2009
2010
2011 - finals loss
2012 - *lockout title*
2013 - championship
2014 - finals loss
2015 - finals loss

8 years
6 finals
1.5 titles

if by then lebron is 1.5 for 8 .... not only will he have f*cked up his finals record. but the dude will be going on more opportunities than even a guy who played on "the most stacked franchise ever"

kobe made the most of what he was given.... made the finals in nearly every year he had the opportunity to... won a title in half the years he had a chance to

thats greatness

Kobe has0.5 rings his whole career

0.1 ring each time he got carried by a bigman

Right. In reality though Kobe has 5. Deal with it

yes but Im just trying to apply the same logic as OP

if going from 82 regular season games to 66 regular season games reduces a ring value to 0.5

then id say having a dominant big man on your team in his prime is 5 times more valuable than playing 16 less regular season games in november/december

seriously op, how the **** does not playing regular season games in nov/dec have any effect on lebron/duncans '12/'99 accomplishments? everyone was equally affected

literally everyone: starters, benchwarmers, coaching staff, front office, hotdog vendors, ball boys, viewers and fans, etc..

i have absolutely nothing against OP and for the most part his heavily-biased opinions of lebron/kobe are somewhat valid. his posts are sometimes entertaining, creative, and well thought-out

my only gripe is his retarded premise that a lockout season somehow gave an edge to the teams that won the chip that year

yet he still has equalled his fmvp total

in 12 years lebron has 3 more mvp's than Kobe, where is Shaq to help Kobe here?

gtfo with bringing sidekick accomplishments into this fight.

how does it feel riding shaq's accomplishments into these discussions? these 3 rings go into shaq's resume, that is why they are used to prove shaq's greatness in player comparisons

Shaq fan here, but does Kobe's 3 rings with Shaq not hold any weight? This isn't like a Adam Morrison type ring here, Shaq needed Kobe and Kobe needed Shaq.

Kobe's 2002 championship doesn't count. That title belongs to Sacramento.

So 4 rings.

He has twice as many appearances as the leader of his team as well. Kobes rings with Shaq absolutely count, but let's not act as if it's the same as if he were the leader/best player for all 3. He was a clear and distant 2nd option in 2000, and a 1b type the other 2 and that may be a bit generous depending on your point of view.

the rings were because of prime shaq being there.

That's like asking the question how many more rings Jordan or Lebron would have had if they had prime monster Shaq their first 7 seasons in the league.

Gotta love the continued ignorance regarding context

The point i'm making is that even though lebron fans credit all the opportunities kobes had based on being with the storied lakers franchise. Spoiled with chances at titles

Lebron will have technically been on more championship ready rosters by the time hes only 32 years old

Failing miserably in nearly all of them
